Hi everybody, The job about making tile graphics that I posted last month didn't get filled so I have reposted it yesterday. If anyone of you feels like drawing plains, deserts, ... then don't hesitate to help out :-) The map screen has improved a bit, you now start the game with 2 ships to make testing easier. The map automatically re-centers when needed and the units become active in a normal order. The units can also be activated now by clicking on them. And the map re-centers when clicking in the center of a tile. I have also added a TextArea to be able to read debugging info while playing the game (this used to be a bit difficult earlier because it's fullscreen). Next up I'll be making sure the map re-centers correctly no matter where in a tile you click. After that I'll be making the map scroll when your mouse is at the border of the screen. Then I'll replace the second ship by a land unit that will be placed on the first ship and make sure land unit can board and unboard ships and walk on land. Adding a simple (featureless) colony will be the last thing for the first release 0.1.0. I also wanted to show the proper tile graphics on the map for version 0.1.0. An operator at #gametome (the IRC channel for http://www.happypenguin.org) said I could use #gametome for FreeCol. I wanted an IRC channel to be able to test the multiplayer part of the game. If anyone feels like doing some testing with me that would be really nice! Also if you tested the game on your own then let me know what you think. I guess that's it for now. bye, Lars |
