interestingly, while i see the same error messages when i use win+left/right this leads to no crash
to test this i start gedit in an ubuntu 20.4 SWL2 instance

k, it seems there was a problem with the DB itself. looking into the data i had very large cliporder values. sql lite studio had trouble with sorting over that field. so i tried to set the order to some lower value by reducing it (1st with reducing a fixed amount, then by just copying over the lID). but only some of the data was actually updated -- even after the update i had those very large values. in the end i changed the datatype from REAL to BIGINT and that solved it then for good. since after...
