"Only four stars, until I really get the hang of it" Posted 2026-07-17
Pros: As an old school QS/Estimator, who was brought up on using paper drawings and take-off sheets, this has been mind blowing. I have been using a free on line take-off system, that has no back up and will eventually be taken down, together with my own take -off and estimating Excel spreadsheets. I love the ability to screen shot my mark ups and add them to my take-offs for future reference. I have seen others using Bluebeam and I would consider Purple Hammer to be above and beyond this system. The ability to compare drawing revisions is a great feature. We all know the architects who like to push out drawing revisions and not actually cloud the revisions.
Cons: The only con at the moment is my own limits. I'm looking forward to Ari Isaacs showing me how to incorporate my own take-off sheets.
Looking forward to being able to exploit it's featuresOverall: Great value for money. Easily loads up whole folders of drawings. For a novice, t's been easy to take on screen measurements.
