About

Wordwall can be used to create both interactive and printable activities. Most of our templates are available in both an interactive and a printable version. Interactives are played on any web-enabled device, like a computer, tablet, phone or interactive whiteboard. They can be played individually by students, or be teacher-led with students taking turns at the front of the class. Printables can printed out directly or downloaded as a PDF file. They can be used as a companion to the interactive or as stand-alone activities. Our activities are created using a template system. These templates include familar classics like quiz and crossword. We also have arcade style games like maze chase and airplane, and there are classroom management tools such as seating plan. To make a new activity you start by selecting your template and then enter your content. It's easy and means you can create a fully interactive activity in a only a couple of minutes.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • There was a help function on the assignments that was appreciated. Getting marks back instantly was a pro.
  • Pearson feels a little bare bones compared to some of the other textbook giants, and their textbooks are just as poorly written, but on the software end, I've actually had the least amount of issues with them out of the big companies. They're simple and don't look quite as modern, but it gets the job done well enough. The etextbooks need work, but they're acceptable.

Cons

  • Program was always slow to load and not as easy to use as other programs. My biggest complaint is the amount of errors in the text book and on the assignments and exams. It took me quite awhile to try to find a number and get through to support to be told that they don't take corrections from students. Which is probably why there continues to be so many errors.
  • The content of the etextbooks is the biggest con. Like all the other textbooks giants, they're badly written and often have issues. At best the material is suitable for intro classes, but certainly not for higher levels of study. Often the etextbook by itself costs the same as the physical book and the etextbook combined, which makes no sense to me.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • It's easy and quick to use. You can use a search feature to find stock photos. There are varieties of games and quiz styles. The background graphics on the games are cute, but the quizzes are kind of old school. There are different themes that match the seasons, but you can only choose from those ones. The ease of use is probably the only going factor for this website. Its quick and the community has a lot of options already prepared.
  • It's really easy to make awesome and engaging games in minutes (even seconds, believe me). All my students love the games, and they're appealing to all ages. - There are a lot of different games you can make so your students won't get tired or bored of the games as you repeat them so little. -It's not expensive. It's really cheaper than a burger and fries (at least here where I live: Rio). - There are many different layouts you can use. So even if it's the same game you can diversify. They even make seasonal layouts.

Cons

  • I could not pay with either of my cards, despite Stripe services being used on them before. There are other websites that are far cheaper and have more options than this site. The free version has no access to search, game options, and only lets you make 5. They keep taking away features from the free version, limiting your testing of the experience. Even if you delete one, it still counts against your 5. There are other, again cheaper sites, that let you make your own themes, use your own backgrounds, and basically provide similar, if not the same activities.
  • There's no con actually. I'd just suggest a few things like allowing us to upload a background in paid plans.
