About

Ncored is a fast PDF editor for large AutoCAD, Revit and ArchiCAD drawing sets, on Windows and Mac. It stays smooth on scroll, zoom and markup on heavy construction drawing PDFs from 50-200 MB+ project sets, where general PDF tools freeze. It runs locally, so drawings never leave your machine. English and German. 14 days free, no signup and no email. EUR 12.99/month, EUR 79.99/year, or EUR 159 once for a lifetime licence. Features: standards-compliant markup, in-place text editing, merge, split and reorder pages, full-text search and compression. Measurement: length, polyline and area to scale in metric units, with snapping to the drawing's own lines. Saved as standard PDF measurements that Adobe Acrobat recognises. Revision compare: drag an older revision onto the open drawing to see what was added in blue, removed in red and unchanged in grey. Deliberately narrower than general PDF suites: no OCR, no form creation, no print preflight.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • As an old school QS/Estimator, who was brought up on using paper drawings and take-off sheets, this has been mind blowing. I have been using a free on line take-off system, that has no back up and will eventually be taken down, together with my own take -off and estimating Excel spreadsheets. I love the ability to screen shot my mark ups and add them to my take-offs for future reference. I have seen others using Bluebeam and I would consider Purple Hammer to be above and beyond this system. The ability to compare drawing revisions is a great feature. We all know the architects who like to push out drawing revisions and not actually cloud the revisions.

Cons

  • The only con at the moment is my own limits. I'm looking forward to Ari Isaacs showing me how to incorporate my own take-off sheets. Looking forward to being able to exploit it's features
