About

MineTwin is simulation, planning and decision-support software for open-pit and underground mining operations. It enables mining companies, engineers and consultants to create realistic digital twins of mines, test operational scenarios and evaluate proposed changes before committing equipment, capital or production resources. MineTwin combines discrete-event simulation, scheduling and optimization to model mine layouts, production targets, equipment fleets, haulage networks, material flows, maintenance schedules and operational constraints. Teams can compare scenarios, optimize fleet sizes and equipment allocation, identify bottlenecks, validate production plans and assess new infrastructure or technologies. Interactive 2D and 3D views, dashboards, timelines, graphs and detailed reports make simulation results easy to understand. MineTwin supports common engineering and spreadsheet data formats and exports results to Microsoft Excel.

About

Twinbay is a hosted API simulation platform for developers testing AI agents and applications that call third-party services. Its stateful API twins can return configurable responses and model conditions such as payment declines, rate limits, expired credentials, email bounces, and paginated results. Teams direct compatible SDK requests to a twin, create isolated environments for test runs, inspect request logs, and use the environments in development or CI. The catalog includes twins for services such as GitHub, HubSpot, Plaid, Resend, Klaviyo, Linear, NetSuite, and QuickBooks. Twinbay offers a free plan with limits on twin usage and environment duration, pay-as-you-go twin-hour billing, and an Enterprise option. It is designed for engineers who need repeatable tests of agent behavior without relying on live production accounts or shared provider sandboxes.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Built for mining out of the box. Most simulation tools hand you a blank canvas and you burn weeks coding basic mine logic before you get near the actual problem. MineTwin already understands drifts, stopes, ore passes, muck bays, and it runs the whole mining cycle, not just haulage. Starting a project is more configuration than a clean build. Import the layout from Deswik, pull the operational schedule from Excel, set your equipment and rules, and you have a working model fast. When we've needed it customized for a specific operation, the vendor has been responsive.
  • MineTwin has been a very positive experience. What I value most is that it is designed specifically for mining operations, with many of the parameters and operational logic already built into the software. This makes it easier to develop models and focus on analyzing the operation rather than building everything from scratch. The integrated dashboards are also very useful for understanding results and supporting operational decisions.
  • MineTwin provides a powerful simulation environment specifically designed for mining. Having the main elements and logic required for open-pit and underground operations already available significantly reduces development time and allows us to build comprehensive and highly detailed mine models much faster for our clients. Its scenario analysis capabilities are particularly useful for running statistical experiments, identifying bottlenecks, and quantifying the impact of operational alternatives.
  • The user interface is beginner friendly and enables effective modeling of operations with minimal coding requirements.
  • What I love most is how it makes incredibly complex simulations feel easy. The 3D modeling is beautiful and makes explaining projects to clients an absolute breeze. It easily handles massive amounts of data and complex math without slowing down. Building out infrastructure layouts, routing logic, and testing different scenarios is smooth, fast, and highly accurate.

Cons

  • It's mining-specific, so the user community is smaller than a general-purpose platform and you lean on the vendor rather than public forums when something unusual comes up. Results are only as good as the input data, so budget real up-front time to collect and validate the layout and operational data before you trust the numbers.
  • The learning curve can still be relatively steep for users who are not familiar with simulation or mining-specific concepts. However, the software provides documentation and learning resources that help users understand its features and accelerate the learning process.
  • Some mining operations have very specific operating rules and site-specific logic that cannot always be covered out of the box. In these cases, additional customization may be required to fully represent those requirements.
  • I have not identified any shortfalls in my experience with the software
  • Honestly, it is hard to find anything to complain about. Because it is packed with so many great features, you might spend your first afternoon just clicking around to see everything it can do—but the layout is so clean and intuitive that you feel like a pro in no time.
