BIM

BIM (building information modeling) pays off when the whole project team can use the models. InEight Model creates a shared visual environment on the InEight Platform by aggregating 3D models into one federated view and connecting them with live project data. Teams run model coordination in context, link documents and project data to model objects, and use visual scheduling to see status where the work lives. InEight Model is a federated model environment, so it works alongside the BIM authoring tools your designers already use and manages model versions as designs change. Beyond design, model-based takeoff feeds quantities into InEight Estimate, and planners and field teams reference the same models the engineering team produced. For capital construction teams that want BIM to inform decisions from planning through delivery, InEight puts models and project data in one place. Design decisions are easier to price and build when the model sits next to the numbers.

Capital Project Management

Capital project management asks an organization to hold a clear picture across years of work, multiple delivery partners, and thousands of decisions. InEight is built for that view. Owners and their contractors plan, estimate, and schedule work, control cost and changes, govern contracts and documents, and track field progress on one platform, with portfolio reporting in InEight Report & Explore rolling live project data up to the program level. Because the InEight Platform runs on a connected data model, an executive dashboard and a field report describe the same underlying facts. Owner teams use InEight to standardize processes across projects and delivery models, from Design–Build to EPC, and to keep institutional knowledge when one project ends and the next begins. Across mining, nuclear, power and renewables, transportation, water, and oil, gas, and chemical, teams in 60+ countries manage more than $1 trillion in capital projects with InEight.

Civil Engineering

Civil engineering work runs on quantities: cubic yards moved, linear feet placed, crew hours spent. InEight tracks the work at that level. InEight Estimate builds resource-based estimates from crews, equipment, and materials, with unit costs grounded in benchmarking against past performance. In the field, InEight Plan & Progress captures installed quantities, daily reports, and crew hours, so productivity and unit cost are visible while there is still time to act. InEight Schedule adds CPM scheduling with risk analysis for long, sequenced jobs, and InEight Control connects budgets, forecasts, and actuals as work proceeds. Civil contractors and the owners they build for use InEight on transportation infrastructure, water, and power and renewables projects, among others. For self-perform work where margin lives in production rates, InEight keeps estimated performance and actual performance in the same system, where the comparison is unavoidable.

Construction Bid Management

Construction bid management rewards speed and confidence in the number. InEight Estimate gives contractors both. Build bids on flexible estimate structures that match how the work will be built, price labor, crews, equipment, and materials in detail, and check totals with built-in benchmarking against past project performance. The bid wizard speeds bid setup, and quote management collects and compares subcontractor and supplier pricing side by side. Estimators run alternate pricing scenarios before committing, and the winning bid rolls forward as the execution budget on the InEight Platform, with its assumptions intact and connected to cost control and scheduling. Estimating teams keep a defensible record of how each number was built, useful in bid reviews and in claims years later. Contractors across transportation, mining, and oil, gas, and chemical bid and deliver capital work with InEight.

Construction Data Analytics

Construction data analytics are only as good as the data underneath them. InEight Report & Explore runs on live data captured across the InEight Platform: costs, schedules, quantities, changes, and field progress recorded in the normal course of the work. Dashboards let project teams drill from a portfolio view down to the record behind a variance, and executive dashboards roll the same data up for program leadership. Reporting across projects shows where performance patterns repeat, and standardized data structures keep cross-project comparisons meaningful. Because Report & Explore draws only on data in InEight products, every number traces back to a source record, which settles the monthly argument about whose spreadsheet is right. Contractors and owners use it for month-end reporting, portfolio analysis, and project reviews built on current numbers. Project engineers, controllers, and executives read from the same source, each at their own level of detail.

Construction Drawing Management

Construction drawing management on a jobsite comes down to a single question: is this the current set? InEight Document keeps drawings under formal document control, with one register for every drawing and revision, version control on each release, and controlled distribution through transmittals so the field builds from current documents. Review and approval workflows route drawings with due dates and full visibility of where each one sits. An audit trail records actions to the user level, and transmittal read receipts settle who received which revision, and when. Metadata tagging and search bring the right drawing up in seconds rather than an afternoon of folder digging. On the InEight Platform, drawings connect to the contracts, changes, and work packages that reference them, so document control supports the build. Contractors and owners run drawing control in InEight Document on capital projects of every size.

Construction ERP

Construction ERP systems handle corporate financials, and project teams need cost and schedule control at a finer grain than an ERP records. InEight is construction project controls software built to run alongside your ERP. ERP integration syncs budgets, commitments, actuals, and pay applications between systems, so accounting and the project team read the same numbers without duplicate entry. On the project side, InEight adds quantity-level cost control, forecasting, change management, contract governance, and field progress tracking, while the ERP stays the system of record for finance. Contractors and owners in 60+ countries run InEight this way on capital projects worth over $1 trillion. Teams evaluating construction ERP options often pair the ERP with InEight for the project controls layer, because the gap between corporate accounting and jobsite reality is where overruns hide. Finance closes the books its way, and project teams stop reconciling exported reports by hand.

Construction Estimating

Construction estimating software from InEight is built around flexible estimate structures: organize the estimate the way the project will be built, from conceptual planning through detailed, resource-loaded bids. InEight Estimate prices labor, crews, equipment, and materials at the level of detail the job demands, and built-in benchmarking compares your numbers with historical performance so outliers show up before they become losses. The bid wizard and quote management cut setup and supplier pricing time. When the job is won, the estimate converts to the execution budget on the InEight Platform, connected to cost control, scheduling, and field progress, so the assumptions behind the number stay visible through delivery and as-built results feed the next estimate. From large capital projects to multi-billion-dollar megaprojects, estimating teams across 60+ countries build, review, and defend their numbers in InEight.

Construction Procurement

Construction procurement on capital projects spans supplier quotes, subcontract buyout, and every commitment that follows. InEight connects those steps to the project's numbers. Quote management in InEight Estimate gathers supplier and subcontractor pricing during bidding, so buyout decisions trace back to documented quotes. InEight Contract centralizes the resulting contracts and commitments under one set of controls, with ERP integration connecting them to finance systems. Commitments register against budget in InEight Control, so committed cost shows in the forecast as buyout proceeds, and InEight Change gives post-award scope movement a standardized workflow with cost and schedule impact analysis. Buyers, project managers, and finance work from one record of what has been bought, from whom, and at what price, and procurement status stays visible to the whole project team, from award through final delivery.

Construction Risk Management

Construction risk management capabilities in InEight sit inside the schedule and the budget, where decisions get made. InEight Schedule maintains a risk register alongside the plan, where teams identify and assess risks with subject matter experts and run quantitative analysis, including Monte Carlo simulation, turning uncertainty into risk-adjusted forecasts a team can plan against. Potential change orders carry probability percentages that factor into forecasted cost and revenue in InEight Control, so risk shows in the forecast early. When scope shifts, InEight Change routes change orders through standardized workflows with cost and schedule impact analysis, so every change gets a controlled path and a record behind it. Risk reporting stays connected to live project data on the InEight Platform, from portfolio level down to the activity or cost item carrying the exposure. Teams in nuclear, mining, and power and renewables use InEight to see risk early enough to act on it.

Construction Scheduling

Construction scheduling in InEight Schedule combines critical path method (CPM) scheduling with AI-assisted planning that draws on historical project data to suggest activities, durations, and logic as planners build. Risk analysis is part of the same tool: teams run qualitative reviews and quantitative simulation to put ranges and confidence behind key dates. Schedule collaboration brings planners, project managers, and subject matter experts into review cycles with digital markup, capturing field knowledge the critical path alone won't show. The master schedule extends to short-interval look-ahead planning for field teams, and progress captured in InEight Plan & Progress flows back on the InEight Platform without re-entry, keeping the plan current between formal reviews. On capital projects where a slipped date costs real money, teams use InEight Schedule to plan with the risk visible. Owners and contractors apply it across single projects and recurring capital programs.

Earned Value Management

Earned value management (EVM) capabilities in InEight are built around quantity-based percent complete. Quantity tracking and standardized claiming schemes in InEight Plan & Progress produce earned quantities from the field, so progress reflects installed work. InEight Control connects budgets, forecasts, and actuals against that earned value, with drill-down to true percent complete at the cost-item level. Forecasting runs on the same data, with forecast methods teams can tailor to how each item is performing, so a productivity dip shows its effect on final cost early enough to respond. Month-end reporting draws from live records. Because cost, schedule, and progress share a connected data model on the InEight Platform, earned value calculations come from the numbers the team already uses, and EVM reporting satisfies owners and executives without a parallel bookkeeping effort. Where owners require earned value reporting, InEight gives teams a defensible way to deliver it.

Jobsite Management

Jobsite management is a daily cycle: plan the work, put crews on it, capture what got done. InEight Plan & Progress digitizes that cycle with structured work packaging, where work packages tie to daily plans and the components crews build in the field. Crews record daily reports, timesheets, and installed quantities on their devices, and quantity tracking against defined claiming schemes turns field data into objective percent complete. Because Plan & Progress sits on the InEight Platform, what the field reports today shows up in cost forecasts and schedule updates without a second round of data entry. InEight Compliance adds digital forms for safety and quality checks, with field data capture and audit trails, so safety records stay with the work they document. Superintendents get plans crews can execute, project managers get progress numbers they can trust, and the office stops chasing paper at the end of every week.

Subcontractor

Subcontractor management runs the length of a project: quotes at bid time, contracts at buyout, then changes and payments until closeout. InEight covers each stage on one platform. Quote management in InEight Estimate collects and compares subcontractor pricing during the bid, so buyout starts from documented numbers. InEight Contract centralizes subcontracts and commitments, so every agreement on the job stays visible and governed, with ERP integration tying commitments to finance systems. When scope moves, InEight Change routes subcontractor change orders through standardized workflows with cost and schedule impact analysis, and payments run through approval workflows in InEight Contract, tied to claimed schedule of values items. Commitments count against budget in InEight Control, so a growing subcontract shows in the forecast early. For general contractors and owners managing dozens of trade partners, InEight keeps every subcontractor relationship documented and visible.

Takeoff

Takeoff capabilities in InEight Estimate connect quantities straight to priced cost items, so measured scope becomes a priced estimate without rekeying between tools. Quantities connect to the resources that will do the work: labor, crews, equipment, and materials at the unit level on flexible estimate structures. When quantities change, pricing follows, and a full audit trail shows the history of every change made to the estimate, which holds up in bid reviews and audits. Built-in benchmarking checks quantities and unit costs against as-estimated and as-built data from past jobs, flagging figures that sit outside past experience. With model-based takeoff, quantities update directly from the project model in InEight Model, keeping the estimate aligned as the design evolves, and the finished estimate carries into execution as the project budget. For contractors who win work on tight margins, keeping takeoff, pricing, and benchmarking together removes a common source of bid errors.

Construction Contract Management

Construction contract management in InEight Contract improves contract visibility and governance by centralizing every agreement on a project, with terms, values, and status in one place. ERP integration keeps contract and commitment data consistent with finance systems, and commitments show against budget in InEight Control so contract exposure is visible in the forecast. InEight Change handles what contracts inevitably produce: change orders, routed through standardized, repeatable workflows with cost and schedule impact analysis and audit trails that hold up in a claim. Contractual correspondence and documents stay under document control in InEight Document, tracked to the user level. On the InEight Platform, contract data connects to cost, schedule, and field progress, so commercial teams manage agreements with the project's numbers in view. Contractors and owners use InEight to govern contracts on capital projects from award through final closeout.

Construction Cost Tracking

Construction cost tracking capabilities in InEight Control connect budgets, forecasts, and actuals in real time, so the cost picture reflects the project as it stands. Cost control covers commitments, actuals, and variances at the cost-item level, down to the transaction behind any number. Field quantities and hours captured in InEight Plan & Progress feed earned value, so percent complete comes from installed work, and forecasting continuously updates expected final cost as conditions change, with forecast methods matched to how each item is trending. Change orders from InEight Change carry their impacts into the forecast. Month-end reporting draws from live, standardized records, so closing the books means reviewing numbers rather than rebuilding them. The same connected data answers the project engineer coding costs and the executive asking where the job will land. Teams in more than 60 countries track cost this way with InEight.

Construction Document Management

Construction document management for capital projects carries legal weight, and InEight Document treats it that way, as formal document control. One central register holds every drawing, specification, and piece of correspondence, with version control, metadata tagging, and controlled distribution through transmittals and packages. Review and approval workflows route documents with due dates and clear ownership at each step. Actions are tracked to the user level in the audit trail, producing records that stand up when claims or disputes arrive long after closeout. Field and office teams pull the same current documents, and superseded versions stay in the record without staying in circulation. On the InEight Platform, documents connect to the contracts, changes, and work they support. For joint ventures and owner and contractor teams that need one trusted document set, InEight Document is where project information lives.

Construction Inspection

Construction inspection generates the records a project is judged by: test results, punch items, safety checks, and handover documents. InEight captures them digitally in the field as the work happens. InEight Compliance puts inspections on mobile digital forms with field data capture, covering environmental, health and safety (EHS) and quality checks, with real-time data and tracked approvals behind every submission. InEight Completions manages the closeout side: inspection and test plans (ITPs), punch lists, issue resolution, commissioning certificates, and quality handover, tracking each item to a responsible party and a documented closure. Because both run on the InEight Platform, inspection data joins the same project record as cost, schedule, and documents, and turnover packages assemble from records collected throughout the job rather than a rebuild at the end. InEight keeps inspection evidence complete and findable for owners taking custody and contractors proving the work.

Construction Project Management

Construction project management software from InEight puts estimating, scheduling, cost control, contracts, documents, and field execution in one connected system. Project teams work a job from pursuit through closeout on the InEight Platform: the estimate becomes the budget, the schedule drives look-ahead planning, field crews report progress on mobile devices, and costs, changes, and forecasts update from the same data. That connection removes the duplicate entry and month-end reconciliation that consume project engineers' weeks when every function runs its own tool. Standardized processes and consistent data carry from project to project, so distributed teams execute the same way and new projects start from proven structures. Enterprise contractors and owners in 60+ countries manage capital projects with InEight, from large, complex jobs to multi-billion-dollar megaprojects, in industries including mining, transportation, and water.

Heavy Civil Construction

Heavy civil construction is self-perform work: your crews, your equipment, your production rates, your risk. InEight Estimate builds resource-based estimates from crews, equipment, and materials at the unit-cost level, with built-in benchmarking against how past jobs performed. InEight Plan & Progress captures installed quantities, daily reports, and hours from the field, so production and unit cost are visible daily instead of at month end. InEight Schedule brings CPM scheduling and risk analysis to long, sequenced jobs, and InEight Control ties budgets, forecasts, and actuals together as the work moves. Heavy civil contractors use InEight on highways, bridges, water infrastructure, and earthwork, where margin is made or lost in production. When the estimate, the plan, and the field report live in one system, the numbers argue less. Estimators, superintendents, and project managers read the same production story.

"Fantastic Bid Management Software - Saves time!"

    Posted 2021-08-19

Pros: Cloud based so accessible to our team no matter where they are working from. This software helps us manage risks when it comes to our capital projects. We utilize the bid wizard when we score new projects. This allows us to easily setup the jobs through copying cost breakdowns from previous jobs, account codes and so on. This frees up a lot of time and resources to do things we can't just copy over.

Cons: Pretty in-depth so takes some time to figure out and work through. Overall, no complaints once you figure it out.

Overall: This software helps simplify our bidding process through its id wizard feature. That alone has saved us time and money, because it works as easy as copy and paste. The cloud-based software allows us all to work remotely and still be on the same page and up to date. Overall, this is a highly reliable and well thought out software.
