About MineTwin

MineTwin is simulation, planning and decision-support software for open-pit and underground mining operations. It enables mining companies, engineers and consultants to create realistic digital twins of mines, test operational scenarios and evaluate proposed changes before committing equipment, capital or production resources.

MineTwin combines discrete-event simulation, scheduling and optimization to model mine layouts, production targets, equipment fleets, haulage networks, material flows, maintenance schedules and operational constraints. Teams can compare scenarios, optimize fleet sizes and equipment allocation, identify bottlenecks, validate production plans and assess new infrastructure or technologies.

Interactive 2D and 3D views, dashboards, timelines, graphs and detailed reports make simulation results easy to understand. MineTwin supports common engineering and spreadsheet data formats and exports results to Microsoft Excel.

"Highly Usable for Mining Simulation and Analysis"

    Posted 2026-08-28

Pros: MineTwin has been a very positive experience. What I value most is that it is designed specifically for mining operations, with many of the parameters and operational logic already built into the software. This makes it easier to develop models and focus on analyzing the operation rather than building everything from scratch. The integrated dashboards are also very useful for understanding results and supporting operational decisions.

Cons: The learning curve can still be relatively steep for users who are not familiar with simulation or mining-specific concepts. However, the software provides documentation and learning resources that help users understand its features and accelerate the learning process.

Overall: Overall, my experience with MineTwin has been very positive. The software provides a good balance between modeling flexibility and mining-specific functionality, making it suitable for studying complex operational scenarios. I found it particularly valuable for evaluating different alternatives, understanding the impact of operational changes, and supporting decisions related to capacity, resource utilization, and overall system performance. The combination of simulation and analytical capabilities makes MineTwin a useful tool for both detailed operational studies and higher-level decision-making.

    "Powerful Mining-Specific Simulation Platform"

    Edited 2026-08-26

Pros: MineTwin provides a powerful simulation environment specifically designed for mining. Having the main elements and logic required for open-pit and underground operations already available significantly reduces development time and allows us to build comprehensive and highly detailed mine models much faster for our clients. Its scenario analysis capabilities are particularly useful for running statistical experiments, identifying bottlenecks, and quantifying the impact of operational alternatives.

Cons: Some mining operations have very specific operating rules and site-specific logic that cannot always be covered out of the box. In these cases, additional customization may be required to fully represent those requirements.

Overall: My overall experience with MineTwin has been very positive. Its mining-specific approach provides a good balance between ease and speed of model development and the level of detail and accuracy required for complex simulation studies. It is a powerful tool for evaluating alternatives and supporting engineering and operational decisions, while significantly reducing the time required to develop detailed mining simulation models.

"The Ultimate Digital Twin Software for Mining and Operations"

    Posted 2026-08-19

Pros: What I love most is how it makes incredibly complex simulations feel easy. The 3D modeling is beautiful and makes explaining projects to clients an absolute breeze. It easily handles massive amounts of data and complex math without slowing down. Building out infrastructure layouts, routing logic, and testing different scenarios is smooth, fast, and highly accurate.

Cons: Honestly, it is hard to find anything to complain about. Because it is packed with so many great features, you might spend your first afternoon just clicking around to see everything it can do—but the layout is so clean and intuitive that you feel like a pro in no time.

Overall: MineTwin is a total game-changer for the industry. It takes the heavy lifting out of simulation engineering and makes everything from crunching data to developing full projects feel effortless. It is the absolute perfect tool for finding bottlenecks, managing equipment fleets, and planning out heavy operations flawlessly before spending a dime in the real world. If you need a reliable, top-tier simulation engine that delivers stunning 3D results, this is exactly what you want. Highly recommended!

    "Helping answer practical questions"

    Posted 2026-08-19

Pros: The studies functionality is probably the feature I find most useful. It makes analysing and comparing different scenarios much easier. I can save a study and rerun the same experiments when I receive new scenario files, or when I need to update the mine plan based on actual progress. This saves a lot of time and also makes it easier to keep the analysis consistent between different versions of a plan

Cons: There is a bit of a steep learning curve when first setting everything up. In particular, it takes some time to get a MineTwin scenario configured so that it can be updated properly using the latest mine plan files from systems such as Deswik or Vulcan. Once the process is understood and the scenario is set up correctly, it becomes much easier to manage.

Overall: Overall, I think MineTwin is a very useful and practical tool. It is feature-rich, which means it can be used to answer many different operational questions instead of focusing only on something like haulage. There are many settings and operating conditions that can be changed and tested, so the same model can be used for a wide range of studies. This makes it applicable to many different types of mines and allows the user to investigate the questions that are most relevant to a particular operation.
