Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • I love that many of the products purchased on Etsy are from small businesses, which it feels good to support them. Each product is very unique and different. I like getting all of my meaningful gifts from Etsy, because the products all seem like they are made with love.
  • Ease of selling. Ease of Buying. Little or low fees for both parties. Ratings make your shop go up higher on the list.
  • The best small business owner platform you can find online. They are a global connection for customers and creatives to sell their art and make a living, I love Etsy!
  • You'll get a bigger audience here than on some of the other indie selling places like Store Envy, but that will also depend on your audience and items. You don't need to do much to set up a shop and you can sell pretty much anything here, from digital downloads to handmade goods to old supplies you have around.

Cons

  • The communication between seller and buyer isn't always the easiest, especially if they are in a different time zone or don't speak the same language.
  • Not a lot to not like about Etsy. Sometimes your craft gets lost within many of the same type of craft, but if you are good, you'll be on top.
  • You have to do your research on the artist, sometimes their products aren’t as high quality as they say. But Etsy is good with requiring a certain standard from their retailers.
  • Etsy's been messing things up for sellers more over the years, especially with the way they do ads. Standing out from the huge amount of sellers can also be tough if you sell something really popular and common.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • WooCommerce has made our website building simple and efficient. Thousands of plugins that help us achieve simple design changes. Thousands of developers that deal with WooCommerce. Easy to integrate with our ERP systems and customer orders.
  • As the owner of an online store I struggled to find a platform that worked for me. I went with Bluehost and WordPress which gives you the automatic option of working with WooCommerce. WooCommerce had a variety of plugins and options that work for you no matter what you're selling.
  • Its a zero coding e-commerce website builder. Quick options to manage products and categories. One-click to change the status of available products. It auto-updates and sends an email to the buyer about the shipping and tracking information. Secure account registration to buy products. Monthly sales and profit reports.
  • Very simple to build an e-commerce website platform. It gives you lots of customizations to design product pages and fonts as let your choices. It's very simple to add the API key for accepting payment getaway.
  • Quick and intuitive to install and configure Tons of available extensions Many different payment systems Easily integrates with Wordpress Good Search Engine Optimization

Cons

  • I really can't think of too many things which would be a negative. Making product edits can be a little slower than we like but that would be our only complaint.
  • What I may have to say that I dislike about WooCommerce is its not quite as easy as these computer experts say it is. They think because to them its so easy that it should be to us. It's not. But WooCommerce does have oncall support 24/7 so they know we need help and are willing to give it at anytime.
  • No cons. Its the leading e-commerce website builder. Best in my opinion.
  • Overall, it's an outstanding e-commerce website builder.
  • Extensions can get costly Annual subscriptions can be expensive for small stores
