Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros The quantity and quality of tests. The easy deliverability and quick feedback are very important to our organization. - Feature rich platform - Highly customizable - Lots of examples and templates - Easy to navigate - Great support It helps us create tests to easily validate the knowledge of candidates for our interview processes. Where we were before plagued by candidates that would be a clear no-go after a few minutes on a first call, we are now able to just focus on the candidates likely to succeed. The interview fatigue has reduced on interviewers although we are passing much more people and faster via our process. I did an extensive evaluation of more than a dozen tools and chose DevSkiller primarily because of ease of use and candidate experience, along with its rich catalog of questions and coding challenges and ability to customize. The integration with our applicant tracking system made it really easy for recruiters to send the assessments and see the results afterwards. The account team was responsive and helpful. Support was only needed once but they resolved the issue quickly. User interface is intuitive and the candidate experience is streamlined and elegant. I didn't have a single candidate complain about any part of the assessment experience itself. We are using this platform to assess hundreds of candidates in a great number of different technologies. DevSkiller makes this process easy with an extensive collection of premade tasks and a huge variety of languages and tools. All of this coupled with a great support team that handles any issues swiftly makes an amazing overall experience for anyone trying to organize technical assessments. Cons I don't have any negative feedback on the platform so far, it has worked very well for our needs. - Apple platform support still a bit rough + Still geared to simple coding exercises, not project exercises (e.g. iOS app) + Complete logs not shown + Poor feedback to candidates while doing the exercise (missing logs) We have some edge cases that aren't still handled. For example for our internship pipeline we have multiple tests (FE, BE, Mobile..) for the candidate to pick and choose the one (or ones) they want to apply to. This is possible, but in a hack way by adding all the tests and informing the candidates that they don't need to do them all, just pick the ones they want instead of a checkbox at the beginning style approach. Also at the end all are taken into account for the evaluation of the candidate since the platform isn't aware that the tests are "opt-in" a candidate might just want to do one of them. My team found one obscure bug which was fixed quickly. I would also like to be able to customize the email notifications more. I like being able to add my own company logo but I couldn't remove the DevSkiller logo from the invite emails. Currently, DevSkiller is one of the best platforms on the market for what it does, and there aren't many things that are missing. We could use a few quality of life features, such as dark mode and better test descriptions, but I have no doubt these are coming in the future.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Has a plethora of functions and ability. You can use assessments and live coding for software coding assessments. The developers at our company have ease of access to this platform and easily found their way around it. - It supports multiple languages for programming. - The analytics provided by Hacker Rank is informative and clear. - The questions provided for practice are comprehensive and according to the user's caliber. (+) The interface needs a definite shoutout. (+) Supports most of the languages. (+) HacerRank always tries to provide a great set of questions. (+) It also provides content for learning. (+) It has a very great community which helps in growing. (+) Used for screening candidates in job interviews. Slick User Interface. Great set of coding problems. Online IDE supporting almost all major languages. Regular competitions & hiring challenges. Cons No real major cons here. Sometimes the software acts funny with microphones, making it hard to hear what a candidate is saying - The only con is that the questions are somewhat advanced and the beginner might faces struggle initially. (-) Some languages do not have recent programming version support, (-) Appreciation to participants in the form of certificates. (-) Some times questions are repeated or lifted from previous competition. (-) IDE compiler is not as good as the other software. Problems heavily incline towards competitive programming. Newer languages are not supported.
