About
Bitdefender AI Guardian is a macOS security application for people who use autonomous AI agents, including developers and other technical users. It installs a local background service and command-line interface that checks agent activity against user-defined policies. The software inspects prompts, tool calls, MCP servers, installed skills and file access, and can allow, flag or block actions. It can scan skills and MCP servers, help keep credential paths away from agents, and record decisions in an encrypted local audit log for review. Users can also receive private direct-message alerts through a selected chat platform. In its beta, AI Guardian supports Claude Code, OpenClaw and Hermes Agent and is offered free for macOS; the company describes additional operating-system support as planned. It is intended to add controls around agent actions rather than replace an AI model, agent framework or conventional antivirus.

About
Open-sourcing Grid, the Guardian’s new image management service. This is the story of how we are building Grid, the Guardian’s new image management system, working very closely with our editorial colleagues and using a modern technology stack. Oh, and it’s all Open Source. For about a year, a small dedicated team has been building the Guardian’s new image management service. To deliver it, the team relied on a pragmatic Agile approach, working directly with users to quickly develop a product that fits their needs and expectations. The new service is now integrated with our print workflow and used for almost half of the images published in our digital content. As the wider Editorial Tools teams worked on building a modern suite of editorial products, from content authoring and workflow management to editing of front and section pages, the need for a rich source of media became increasingly pressing.
