OpenDots is an open-source template for building persistent AI coworkers that operate across chat, voice calls, Slack, and isolated computers. Each specialized agent, called a Dot, can have its own instructions, research permissions, memory permissions, and tools. Spaces provide searchable pages with editing, autosave, revisions, and conversation context. Agents can use isolated browser or workspace environments to perform longer computer-based tasks. Scheduled background work, pause and retry controls, human approvals, and execution receipts provide oversight for persistent jobs. Slack channels and realtime WebRTC speech can be connected through configured integrations. The application is built with CopilotKit and AG-UI and can be customized for self-hosted deployments.
