Altus

Altus is a free, open-source desktop client that brings WhatsApp Web functionality to Windows, macOS, and Linux. Built with Electron, it provides a dedicated messaging environment without requiring an open browser tab. Users can connect multiple WhatsApp accounts and access them simultaneously through separate tabs. The application supports native desktop notifications that open the corresponding conversation when clicked. An online indicator helps identify contacts who are currently available. Altus includes a built-in dark mode and a theme customizer for changing interface colors. Advanced users can also create custom CSS themes. System tray integration allows the application to continue receiving notifications while minimized.

Features

Multiple WhatsApp account management with simultaneous messaging sessions
Native desktop notifications with direct access to individual conversations
Online status indicators for identifying available WhatsApp contacts
Built-in dark mode with customizable interface color themes
Custom CSS theme support for advanced visual personalization
System tray minimization with background notification support
