Hi! That libmad package doesn't have libid3tag, this could be the problem. I've nailed down a problem with XMMS and it's MP3 loading issues on my end. I use ScummVM which needs a certain set of SDL libraries and libMAD. These compilations are for the Sharp ROM I believe. Before I install ScummVM, libSDL_1.2.6, libSDL-mixer_1.2.5, libSDL-net_1.2.5, libmad_0.14.2b-1, XMMS doesn't have any problems loading or playing MP3s. Afterwards, I can not get it to load them into the playlist. Unfortunately I corrupted something within the Packages program and now can't uninstall and reinstall stuff to figure which is causing the problems. I have to reflash OZ. Any idea which one would be messing up XMMS's mp3 playing? |

Hi! remove the skin package you have, and install an other one - or force overwrite (or whatever it is called) when installing a new package. The skin data is in /opt/QtPlamtop/lib/xmms/skin - this is hardcoded. bye Denes ps: xmms-e is different from xmms in several respects, eg. the configurat= ion=20 dialogs are cut off. I'm sure there is an obvious answer to this, so I apoligize in advance, but how do you configure xmms-embedded to display a downloaded skin? I've tried putting the *.tar.gz file into ~/.xmms/Skins/ then restarting xmms and that had no effect. I tried un-zipping/un-tarring the contents into ~/.xmms/Skins/ and that wasn't it either... The docs for the standard xmms hint at a preference menu that's accessible by right clicking the interface... Does this exist in the embedded version, and if so how do you do a right click with a Zaurus (or even an i-paq for that matter)? Do I need to put the path of the skin into the config file somehow? Thanks for any help, Derek. |

Hello, I tried installing xmms-e_0.00005-1_arm.ipk on OZ3.1rc2. The dependencies it require are: qpe-base, libmad0, libvorbisidec1. I am not able to find these libs anywhere. If I "force" the install, xmms does not work. Clicking the xmms icon brings up the GUI (cool one at that), select a file (mp3), and nothing happes - no sound, no activity. The selected file doesn't even show in the GUI. I did notice that the CPU is at about 20% for the duration during which xmms is running. And there are about 5 processes named xmms. I am able to play that very same mp3 file with mplayer (from the command line). But if I change the volume in between playback, the sound starts to break. Any odeas how to install xmms ? Hi! I suppose xmms in rc2 should work. Are there /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/libxmms* files (symlinks)? What about /mnt/card/opt/QtPalmtop/lib/* ? Is your sd card ext2 formatted (needed for making links on it atm). For mplayer you probably did not download all dependencies (eg. libmad, libivorbisdec (tremor), probably sdl too). Did you use aqpkg or ipkg ? in= =20 theory aqpkg should grab all the dependencies too - probably ipkg can do = that=20 too with correct commandline option.=20 bye Denes On 2003. febru=E1r 6. 09:55, Mikkel Skovgaard S=F8rensen wrote: > Hi i sure hope someone can help with this one. > > I just installed xmms0.5 under OZ3.1Rc2 and installed to SD card. Some of the base packages there are build and linked for the Zaurus and if by accident a core package gets upgraded from that feed yo might kill your installation. I'd recommend to upgrade your OPIE installation from the feed I mentioned above to avoid confusion. Hi! First of all if xmms is already runnable, run xmms > /mnt/ram/xmms.stdout 2> xmms.stderr or something equivalent, and send those files here. That dependancy is indeed there in the oz feed - you could try downloading the ipks, and install them from commandline. It should require opie-base or qpe-base at least. This dependecy comes from an older control file of opie-common of last week where accidentally libopie11 made its way into the files- this should have been fixed for some days now ... iPAQ or Zaurus ? I could not get it to run after installing it off of APKG either. No matter= =20 which feed, or even with a clean installed OZ, would it load up. I also got= =20 no errors when running it in Konsole. It just never came up. So, I downloaded the XMMS packages and all dependencies and installed them.= =20 It worked! It loads up now. MP3s are not recognized though. I use OGGs=20 though so it's not a big deal. Dustin At 09:33 PM 1/30/2003 +0100, you wrote: >Hi Balatoni, > >Thanks for the feedback. Hi! Are you using latest opie btw ? You could download xmms-e, libvorbisidec and libmad (those 2 you have alr= eady) and try installing it with ipkg -force-depends .=20 I have no idea where that dependecy is coming from (I grepped through=20 oz-buildroot and opie, but didn't find it). > ERROR: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for xmms-e: > qt-embedded-rotation libopie11 > > Earlier this week there was some major (IMHO) restructuring of the Opie > package hierarchy e.g. I see in my pkg lists that qt-embedded-rotation > has now been replaces by libqt2-emb-fonts: > > Package: libqt2-emb-fonts > Installed-Size: 428588 > Architecture: arm > Filename: ./libqt2-emb-fonts_2.3.4-11.1_arm.ipk > Version: 2.3.4-11.1 > Depends: libqt2-emb > Priority: required > Section: opie/system > Maintainer: Opie Team <op...@ha...> > Replaces: qt-embedded-rotation > Description: Qt/Embedded fonts - 0,90,180,270 rotation > > I Cc'ed Oliver Fels, if it is a packaging problem, he might have more > useful input than me.
