-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi! First of all there is a list dedicated to xmms, xmm...@li..., check out http://sf.net/projects/xmms-embedded. > - playback works great, uses up less memory than the other players > (best mpeg playback - looks like the best frame rate) That's mplayer's achievement, thanks in their name ! :) > - while playing movies, the display power management should be turned > off (the other players do that as well). If many request this, I will look into it. > - I can't seem to find any way to configure xmms using the stylus > (right mouse button?) Only way is to edit ~/.xmms/config . > - a few mpeg movies don't seem to work (sound stutters and the > playback framerate is low... sometimes only at the beginning). > I can send you a small movie (<1MB) that demonstrates this. This happening at the beginning is known, and I think it is somehow inherent to mplayer's av-sync code, on such a not so fast cpu. Needs investigation though. If you could send me a movie that does this for a very long time, that would be good. bye Denes - -- "Use the source Luke !" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.4 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE93/+KaQToeq3jgogRAmMyAJ9H3IzZp/EDxh3+YI2ogLA+p1QUCQCfQSk5 fW415ilXzRL95lNeRRKB6gU= =wc7q -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi! I run it on OZ3 :) Did you install it with command line ipkg ? If yes, you need to make a symlink pointing to /mnt/[cf or sd]/opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms named /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms If you check your home dir. you will probably notice, that the .xmms symbolic link is broken. ~/.xmms/config is the config file of xmms, without it it allocates the deafult 529 gigabytes :] Thanks for the report, I guess the package should make that symlink explicitly (aqpkg and the sharp graphical ipkg does that by themselves). Also please tell me if this didn't solve the problem. bye Denes 2002. november 23. 21:47 dátummal Adam Haile ezekkel a bölcs gondolatokkal ajándékozott meg: > I just downloaded and installed xmms-embedded-qtopia and > xmms-embedded-skin-default versions 0.00005pre0, and when I try to run > it I get the following errors: > > # xmms > Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Output/liboss.so > Found oplugin > Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Input/libwav.so > Found iplugin > Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Input/libxmms-mad.so > Found iplugin > Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/Input/libfixpvorbisplugin.so > Found iplugin > Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/General/libQPEgui.so > Found generalplugin > Processing OSS Driver 1.2.7 > Will crash? > not here > -----------------------OSS INIT > Opening the dsp device > bs: 3000,176400 > Allocating memory soon! 529200000 bytes > Allocating memory! 529335168 bytes > > GLib-ERROR **: could not allocate 529335168 bytes > aborting... > Aborted > # > > Why is xmms trying to allocate so much memory?
