Thanks for the information on the /dev/dsp blocking. In full screen, the mpg is rotated (intended), but is there any way to control the start time ? It seems to always start from the beginning. I was hoping to look into the cvs to check whether how much effort required for adding Ipv6 related codes. Would be great if you can email me the latest snapshot tarball to me and to all ? Also has anyone tried using xmms-embedded to stream mpg ? Hows the performance ? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Balatoni Denes" <pn...@co...> To: "James Tan" <jam...@ho...>; <xmm...@li...> Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2003 5:51 PM Subject: Re: [Xmms-embedded-users] Can't access xmms embedded cvs Hi! > a) Rebooting ipaq, xmms-e will not appear when the icon is invoked. Than xmms-e will start up, but will not bring up the gui or do anything usefull, just stay there as a running process. You need to killall -9 xmms kill the process blocking /dev/dsp and restart xmms. xmms logs on stderr and stdout might help finding the cause - if you can send them or take a look at them. > Also understand why the mpg appears reverted. How does the movie show in full screen - rotated (intended) or not rotated and half of it cut by screen border? > Hi, I am facing some problems accessing xmms embedded cvs. Hoping to look > through the codes whether Ipv6 streaming can be supported. Also understand sf.net might be in agony now, otherwise cvs is up to date (that's where xmms-e is built from for openzaurus). If you can put ipv6 into xmms/input/xmms-mad and perhaps xmms/input/vorbis (with urls like http6:// instead of http:// or something like that) that would be really nice. It shouldn't be very hard, just the functions that start up and end the connection have to be changed to their ipv6 counterpart (like appending a 6 to the function name, or something) afaik. thanks Denes |

Hi, foremost for developing such a great software/program which i have successfully installed onto OPIE/IPAQ. I have several questions: a) Rebooting ipaq, xmms-e will not appear when the icon is invoked. However, if i use "/etc/init.d/opie stop" and "/etc/init.d/opie start", xmms-e will then appear when the icon is invoked. Otherwise the GUI is very well-done b) I have played some short clips of the twotower 320x240, and the mpg appears as rectangular box at the top of the screen. Click on it, it blows into full-screen. Would be great if the mpg appears in a designated box etc. ;-) c) Does xmms-e support IPv6 streaming ? I try to connect it to a IPv6 icecast, but no streaming occurs. Would support be added ? thanks |

Hello, I just reinstalled my Z with OZ 3.1rc1 and installed XMMS.. Now, it all appears to work on MOST of the .mp3's that I have, however, some of them dont play. They all work on my XMMS system on my desktop though. And, they used to work prior to re installing the os. I satisfies ALL the dependancies required and then some additional plugins for mplayer and the like. Also, for some reason, I have the audio icon in the documents tab, and there is an entry in the mime.types file for mp3, but when I tap on a mp3, an error comes up stating that No Application is defied for this document.... Type is audio/mpeg. Any idea why Im having these 2 problems? I got this from the same spot I did before.. the testing feed at openzuaurus.org Thanks In Advance -- Joe Giles jg...@jo... Hello! First of all I want to say that xmms on the zaurus is great : When it worked, I used it every day! But : since I installed a new version from the unstable feed, it won't start anymore, even not when I reinstall the version in the testing feed. Using the commandline to startup xmms gives this result : ...... Processing plugin: /opt/QtPalmtop/lib/xmms/General/libQPEgui.so libts-0.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Processing OSS Driver 1.2.7 Will crash? not here ..... It says it's missing a file. How can this be when I really used this version of xmms before? I hope you can help me, I would like to have a working xmms again! kind regards, Martijn Jacobs |
