Well guys I am opening a beta issue thread as I need some users to test the new revisions. I am unable to test all the things I write because of the lack of time mostly. It would be great if some people could take that task off me.

I also tested with WiiXplorer [r238] booting into both IOS80 and 249 and with both it shows both my SD and NTFS and FAT32 partitions on the HDD but still the Use Both Ports settings is not changeable from Off.

I modded following the Softmod Any Wii guide, so according to that I should have the following:

IOS222 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access, USB 2.0 -hermes v4 base-38
IOS223 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, NAND Access, USB 2.0 -hermes v4 base -37/38
    IOS224 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0 -hermes v5.1r base-57

So if I load WiiXplorer with IOS224 should that work? I'll try [r241] as well.

No, Hermes IOS will not work (except a few versions released by Rodries). It supports both USB ports but only one at a time. Not both at once. I would suggest you to use the d2x-v10-beta53-alt cIOS which supports both at once.

In [r241] the selection of the option "both usb ports" is disabled (noticed it just now). Here is a modified version which you can use that allows enabling that option. You will have to remount all devices or restart wiixplorer after enabling that option. Use it on your own risk as it is not well tested yet with the d2x cIOS by me. I would backup the data, just in case or try first with USB Sticks.

I only did the tests on dolphin as my Wii isnt anywhere close right now.

    Report any bugs you find.

Try also to test any other bugs.

I will implement a new auto update functionality again and then make the revision as official release.

    Very confusing.

USB hdd needs manually remounting as it is'nt mounted automaticly
extracting from zip files results is corrupt file, wiiexplorer does not give errors about it.

Don't worry about the update procedure. It isnt done yet. Though if you had [r243] it is weird that it asked for update again as in the xml the rev is 243. Try downloading [r243] from download section again and check if it does that again.

I will check about the zip corruptions and USB HDD mounts.

About HDD mount thats a bit weird. I made it have a time out of 10 seconds. Does the start seem long for you (like 10 seconds)?

Thanks for all the improvements ;)

I installed d2x-v10-beta53-alt to slot 220 and set WiiXplorer build 248 to boot with that. I then enabled the Both USB Ports settings.

With just the HDD connected to the usual port, I think it showed up in WiiXplorer OK (can't quite remember as I was more interested in testing whether both ports worked).

However, with a USB stick plugged into the other port, the HDD was spinning up and down repeatedly when WiiXplorer was starting and was not accessible. Nor was the USB stick and all that was shown was the SD and NAND. The HDD is in a Sumvision Media Center box with it's own PSU, so doesn't require any power from the Wii's USB ports and obviously the USB stick draws very little so it wouldn't be that combined they were drawing too much for the Wii to handle.

If I find some free time i will try to test this.

The base is up to you. I would not recommend base 58 as you can better use 58 directly. Feel free to use any other base. D2X is most stable I guess. IOS58 is known have freezes when writing to USB. Either its bad EHCI implementation in IOS or it just doesnt like communicating with the libogc code :P.

Hey guys I added initial USB Keyboard support. It works very good with my german keyboard. You can modify the delay time for repeated add of characters when holding the key in the setting (keyboard delete delay).
Report if you have issues with the keyboard. I hardcoded a few character codes (not the key codes) for the "up/left/right/down" directions and numpad stuff. I am not sure if they are different on other keyboard layouts but I hope not. As for normal characters, those should work.

    Here it is anyway.
