Whoops! I wonder how long that's been broken... Fixed. The scripts there are designed to be run as root; any temporary files they create are created as root and so ignore quotas. If you're *really* short on disk, this is likely to cause problems. -kgd |

Hi Jamie, Sorry for wasteing your time. My HP-UX server is crazy because he is showing the files now! I do not know what changed but I swear he was not showing these ignite files yesterday. Perhaps some sort of file lock? Thanks for the response though. Best Regards, Bill |

Try going to the Apache module in Webmin, clicking on the Default Server, clicking on the icon for /var/www/html, and clicking on the Directory Indexing icon. In the 'Directory index files' field, make sure index.htm and index.html are listed. - Jamie |

There wasn't any change between versions 1.260 and 1.270 in the way Webmin detects that MySQL is running. However, you can try to debug the problem by going to the Command Shell module, and running the following : mysqladmin -u root -pyourpassword status I would be interested to know what that outputs. - Jamie |

Hi I run Webmin on REDHAT LINUX 9 and Apache 2.0.40. Lately, I get the error " [Client 127.0.0.1] Directory index forbidden by rule /var/www/html" I find this error when I inspect the Systems log since the Index File does not load. Please give clues if any . Thanks, Greg. |

Thanks Jamie! This came through our support input page. Even though we don't offer support on Webmin I relayed the info on how to get on the list and will relay your answer per the cc above. Hi Sorry for spamming, realised I wasnt posting right. My problem is below Post of previous email I am managing over 500 domains over 3 machines using the webmin bind modu= le. I have a problem now where users cannot delete records. For example when trying to delete a record from a certain domain, the use= r gets the following error "Failed to delete records : None selected" I have logged into this user account and setup some test domains. I recei= ve the same error when trying to delete a record. This applies for any recor= d. In the ACL for this user, he is allowed to edit all records and also has = the permission to delete the domain. When looking at the webmin http log, I can see it gets to the part where = the confirmation is asked to delete the record. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - user [15/May/2006:17:55:15 +1000] "POST /bind8/delete_recs.cgi HTTP/1.1" 200 4205 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - user [15/May/2006:17:55:19 +1000] "GET /bind8/delete_recs.cgi?index=3D345&view=3D&rev=3D&confirm=3DDelete+Now HT= TP/1.1" 200 3919 If anyone can help me on this? I'm not sure what's going on here, but I cannot log into to one of my boxes using Webmin. I keep getting an error message stating "Error - Access denied for myipaddres". Nothing has changed on my end, as far as I know, and I have been able to log into this box plenty times in the past. I have tried adding the allow=muipaddress and still no luck. Anyone have any ideas? |

The next release of Usermin will include a feature for setting up automatic scheduled deletion of mail in a folder that is over some limit, such as more than 10 days old. However, that may not help in this case, as the automatic deletion would fail too for the same reason! The only real solution is to use a mail format that allows deletions without having to write out a temp file, such as Maildir. - Jamie |

This is actually a bug in Webmin 1.270.. if you have confirmation before = deleting records enabled and try to delete several at once, this error wi= ll happen. I will fix it in the next release though. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: ax...@ax... Subj: [webmin-l] Bind module and User problems Date: Tue 16 May 2006 8:38 am Size: 1K To: web...@li... Re Post of previous email I am managing over 500 domains over 3 machines using the webmin bind modu= le. I have a problem now where users cannot delete records. Those messages seem to be related to LDAP over SSL .. I think you can ignore them, unless you are actually using LDAP with Apache. - Jamie |

Rather than having the user's Trash mail folder owned by that user, I changed the ownership of that file to "nobody". That way, deletes can succeed because the IMAP action of copying a messge to the Trash folder on deletion didn't increase their disk usage. I also set up a cron job to periodically trim everyone's Trash folder, in much the same way I had set spam folders to be kept somewhat under control. > option2 anyone got a cron script to check the spam file for older than "n" > days and delete those spams. I've posted versions of the mail management scripts I wrote: http://www.deepnet.cx/~kdeugau/spamtools/ Note that all of these scripts work on *nix mbox-format mailboxes; it should be relatively simple to adapt them to maildir mailboxes. Cron entries for most of them look like this: # Spam expiry, automagical trash emptying, and quota warnings. 03 1 * * * root /root/autotrimtrash.pl 30 1 * * * root /root/custom-spam 30 2 * * * root /root/autoexpirespam.pl 25 45 3 * * * root /root/space_warn.pl -kgd |

Hi Jamie, I did the touch after the ignite file was created. The touched file (2007-06-11,15:22) shows up but the ignite file (2006-05-12,14:02) does not. Therefore I assume the cache was rebuilt? Regards, Bill |

I had a server running .260, everything worked fine. It could administer the MySQL5 process, detect it, restart it, and what not. Then I ran the upgrade to .270 and all configuration options were kept intact during the process.. but all of a sudden, WM cannot detect that MySQL is runnign on the server. Using PS AX, it's defnitely running.. using phpMyAdmin, I manage it just fine. I have not changed any parameters inside or outside of WM. -joho |

Hi I have a user who's spam file is 120MB (he never users usermin to check false positives). He wanted to make space as he is close to his quota so i suggested he look to his spam file and delete any or all. now the problem is if he selects say 10 mails and hits delete he gets an over quota message and cannot proceed. i guess usermin is creating a temporary file which adds to his quota and stops this action. i don't want to have to intervene when a user has this problem. option1 have usermin use a file not owned by the user for the deletion (if that is the case) option2 anyone got a cron script to check the spam file for older than "n" days and delete those spams. I go to Webmin/Servers/Virtualmin Virtual Servers. It shows the following message: "Virtualmin's configuration has not been checked since it was last updated. Click the button below to verify it now." When I run the check it gets stuck on this: "No Ethernet interface could be automatically found on your system. Use the module configuration page to set the interface manually. " On the configuration page I change Network interface for virtual addresses from "Detect automatically" to the network interface name (for example, venet0:1), run the configuration check again and then it gets interrupted with this message: "Using network interface venet0:1 for virtual IPs. Failed to find mount point for /home " |
