Hi Am I correct in saying that it isnt possible to delete records via webmin currently because of a bug? I cannot delete records as root or any other users and have to do this manually. The error I receive when trying to delete is "Failed to delete records : None selected" Thanks Again |

If I add a new action, a new file is added to my /etc/init.d directory. If I put that job on startup at boot time, a link to that file is created in the (on example) /etc/init.d/rc3.d If I reboot the box, the job doesn't start. I noticed 4 things about that job 1) the link is absolute, not relative; almost all are link to ../jobname; the new one is linked to /etc/init.d/jobname 2) the name is S99jobname, instead of a lower number (last used is, on example S15jobname, so in principle S16jobname should be created (I think....) 3) on older systems I saw two links ; SxxJob Name and KyyJobName; here I see only S99JobName 4) If I add a new job, and also put that in startup automatic, another S99NewJobName link is created (again absolute link) I am using Webmin 1.270-1.noarch.rpm, just upgraded to the last fix; My operating system is Suse Linux 10.0, kernel 2.6.13-15.10-default Thanks in advance, Andrea Chi ricevesse questa mail per errore e' gentilmente pregato di cancellarla. On the Module Config page, you can set the 'Command to send message to a pager' option to a script of your own creation like :<br /><br />#!/bin/sh<br />echo $2 >/var/log/webmin-up-down.log<br /><br />Normally this option is for use with a command like yaps which actually sends pager messages, but you can use it for any command you like. The only other thing you need to do is activate scheduled checking in the System and Server Status module, and fill in the 'Page status report to number' field with some fake number.<br /><br />=A0- Jamie<br /><br /></span> |

Jamie, A client has requested a log that tracks when certain services have gone down along with what is already in the Webmin System and Service Status page. What they are looking for is something that they can look at in the future and say "On June 2, 2006, mySQL was down and brought back up" etc. Now I can probably program this module myself, but if you have anything already in the works let me know. It's a requirement for the companies Business Continence Plan etc. Thanks! David Coley Codecipher |

please let me know if that works...
I did have problems setting up something like that (I can not remember
exactly the syntax I used), and I end up having 2 sendmail processes
running (I called the second one "sendmail-local", and I started it like:
/usr/sbin/sendmail-local -bd -C /etc/mail/sendmail-local.cf
and /usr/sbin/sendmail-local is a symlink of /usr/sbin/sendmail
then I added /usr/sbin/sendmail-local to the init.d scripts!
not elegant... but it did work!!!
(btw... the only differences between /etc/mail/sendmail.cf and
/etc/mail/sendmail-local.cf is the DaemonPortOptions and where they store
the queue... ah... now that I read!!!... I used DaemonPortOptions instead
of Port= !!!!) (follows the diff between the cf's: )
diff /etc/mail/sendmail-local.cf /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

Cheers!

ps: with Webmin I cloned the sendmail module... pointing the second one to
the right parameters!

This is as much a sendmail question as a Webmin question.
I need sendmail to listen on the loopback and one of the server's IP
address, and not another.
So I cannot use the open: Port=smtp,Addr=0.0.0.0, Name=MTA
But I have yet to find a reference on how to specify two listening addresses.
One refernce seem to be talking about using multiple names, but not
clear. So perhaps I might do:
Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=Loop
Port=smtp,Addr=1192.168.0.2, Name=MTA
????
The dialog field for Webmin Sendmail options, SMTP port options seems
to allow for multiple lines, but I can'tfind any clear answers.....
Barrs Law of Recursive futility
If you're smart enough to use one of these....
.....you can probably manage without one!

Webmin's Samba module can support any backend that the pdbedit command can handle. When you view and edit users, it first tries to use the pdbedit command (which comes with Samba), and falls back to directly edit smbpasswd if pdbedit is not installed. From my understanding, pdbedit looks and smb.conf and uses whatever backend (such as LDAP or tdbsam) is configured there. If this is not working for you, try clicking on the Module Config link in the Samba module, and making sure that the 'Full path to pdbedit' is set correctly. - Jamie |

Does the standard Samba module support the tdbsam password backend? I'm using the tdbsam backend and I'd like to use Webmin's Samba management but I haven't been able to find a way to configure the module to recognize tdbsam backends. Thanks for any info anybody can give me. mdk |
