There is a fix I am investigating for this.. Try editing the file /etc/usermin/mailbox/config , and changing the line index_dbm=0 to index_dbm=2. Let me know if that helps .. - Jamie |

HELP!!!!! I followed all the instructions on the webmin site, but for some reason, V1.290 will not install ### from the webmin site Install winzip or pkunzip so that you can extract the .zip file linked to above. Install the latest versions of ActiveState Perl for Windows. Install the process.exe program, a command-line tool for listing and killing Windows processes. Verify that sc.exe is installed. This is part of Windows XP, and may be found in the Windows Resource Kit on other versions of the OS. Install the Win32::Daemon Perl module. Create the c:\temp directory if it doesn't already exist. After extracting the Webmin ZIP file to c:\webmin , open a command shell window, cd to that directory and run perl setup.pl. Answer all the questions as you would for a tar.gz install of Webmin, as documented above. ### from the webmin site I run the c:\webmin\perl setup.pl and get the following output with no real clue as to what is wrong. I ran it from the c:\webmin driectory and from outside with the same results and no logs anywhere that I can find that show anything wrong. Hi Virtualmin users, Virtualmin GPL version 3.190 is now available for download from www.webmin.com and mirror sites. This is a major update, as it merges the code base with the Pro version, and thus brings in a large number of bug fixes and small improvements. Some of the more interesting changes are : - Added built-in support for granting mail/FTP users access to MySQL databases. - Virtual domains without mail enabled can still have FTP users. - Private IP addresses can be removed from existing virtual servers. - Proxying and frame forwarding can be enabled and edited for a virtual server at any time. - Multiple aliases and mailboxes can be deleted at once. - Added a new backup format that doesn't create files in /tmp when not needed. - Imported virtual servers can be placed under the ownership of an existing server, and can have their Apache SSL virtual servers included. - Many more options for limiting virtual server owners have been added, such as restrictions on real and alias domains, and available capabilities in owned virtual servers. - Plugins can define domain owner limits, template options and new database types. - Mailbox restores can be limited to a single user. - Quotas and limits for a new virtual server are now by default taken from the template, rather than being set on the server creation form. - When restoring a backup, the home directory of any virtual servers created is re-allocated to use the directory and rules defined on the destination system. - Plain text passwords are stored for all new and modified mailbox/FTP users, which allows MySQL, DAV and SVN access to be enabled for users without their passwords needing to be reset. - When email is enabled or disabled for an existing virtual server, MX records are added to or removed from the DNS domain. - Added an option when creating a virtual server with a private IP address to enter an IP that is already active on the system. - Optimized the bandwidth accounting code for email to only scan the maillog once for all domains, which should speed up the bw.pl process on systems with large mail logs. You can get the new version from : http://download.webmin.com/download/virtualmin/virtual-server-3.190.gpl.wbm.gz A complete list of changes is at : http://www.webmin.com/vchanges-3.190.gpl.html - Jamie |

Adding users with names like that is a bad idea, as the quota commands will get confused between UIDs and usernames. For example, if you run : edquota -t 12345678 it may set the quotas for the user named 12345678, or with UID 12345678. Because Webmin just calls thse commands, it cannot handle this situation as you'd expect. - Jamie |

Hi Jamie, When I add a user with a totally numeric userid like 12345678 the quotas appear normal via repquota -s /home but when I look in the Filesystem Quotas module I get two entries for the user, ie 12345678 and #12345678. The first one displays the correct disk usage and the second shows none. Murray |

I seem to recall 2 ACLs being affected and my first reaction was to simply change attr to attrs just as you demonstrated. slapd parsed it, but this change seemed to infer behavior that (obviously) resulted in denial of client writes. I must be overlooking something in my config. Thanks. =2D-=20 Anthony Chavez http://anthonychavez.org/ mailto:ac...@an... jabber:ac...@ja... |

I did also fix a bug related to that field in this new version, so that
whatever you enter into the 'First name' field is set as the givenName
LDAP attribute.
Do you have a custom setting on the Module Config page for the givenName
attribute as well? If so, it should probably be removed..

They mean that you need to install the suexec program on your system. On most distributions, there is a separate RPM / Debian package for it.. - Jamie |

There is actually a tiny module that I created which can do this - you can download it from http://www.webmin.com/download/umodules/link.wbm.gz, and install it using the Usermin Configuration module. Once installed, you can define a URL to redirect to when the module's icon is clicked.. - Jamie |

I upgraded the ldap-useradmin from 1.273 to the above. It brings up the
add user form with the default quota OK but I get the error below when
saving the user. Not sure where that problem slipped in - doesn't sound
related to your change.
Failed to save user : Failed to add user to LDAP database : attribute
'givenName' provided more than once

I think it only affected one of my ACL's - I just changed it to user
attrs as below:
access to attrs=userPassword,SambaLMPassword,SambaNTPassword
by self write
