How do I get the SSH/Telnet applet to accept the user's current keyboard la= yout.. ? In other words, a user calls me to tell me he cannot use =E5=E4=F6= and other accented characters (the applet responds with "Packet integrity = error" and then the session is disconnected, and some of the keys on his ke= yborad aren't recognized at all. I have a strange problem on a Suse Linux 10.1
When I try to configure a time server and press "sync and apply", it tells
me:
Time server different with local time is too large : 39018 days
actually the server has quite the right time
time.ien.it time:7.57.15
box time:
Mon Oct 30 07:55:14 CET 2006
so the difference is about 2 minutes, not more then a century.....(106
years and more)
???
p.s.
it is the only box with this problem.. what could I check ? webmin is
updated:
Version 1.300 on srvlnx04.frameweb.it (SuSE Linux 10.1)
kernel:
srvlnx04:~ # uname -a
Linux srvlnx04 2.6.16.21-0.25-default #1 Tue Sep 19 07:26:15 UTC 2006 i686

That message appears if the backup is launched as a background job. You can start it in the foreground by adjusting the appropriate option on the Module Config page. - Jamie On 29/Oct/2006 14:33 Pat Erler wrote .. > On Sun, 29 Oct 2006 22:59:39 +0100, Jamie Cameron <jca...@we...> > wrote: > > > Ok, so that can't be the cause :( > > What happens if you run the backup from within the web interface, so > that > > it dislays the progress of the dump command? > > Starting background backup process. hi, i use the filesystem backup extensively (via ftp), but recently something went wrong. because of en external event, one job hung, i terminated it and since then (i think), no job is run at night (they are supposed to run sequentially at midnight). in crontab -l i have the line @daily /etc/webmin/fsdump/backup.pl 113791152285552 and when i run it from the terminal i get a "Terminated" shortly after. i can remember, that i deleted some *.status files from /etc/webmin/fsdump. and i changed my tmp directory some days ago (although the problem is older). any ideas, jamie? You can configure Webmin (and thus Virtualmin) so that any master zones created on dns02 are also added to dns01, but as secondaries with dns02 as the master. To do this, you need to : 1) On dns02, add dns01 in the Webmin Servers Index module (with a login and password specified) 2) In the BIND module on dns01, on the Cluster Slave Servers page, add dns02 as a slave. 3) Create a domain in Virtualmin on dns01. It should also be added as a slave zone on dns02. - Jamie On 27/Oct/2006 16:28 Barry wrote .. > Jamie - > > Can you (or someone else perhaps) be more specific? > > here is my situation: > > - dns lives on dns01.domain.com > - host uses virtualmin to create virtual hosts, and can also have bind > running, lets say bind is running on dns02.domain.com, which has the > same IP as host > - virtualmin creates dns record in dns02 > - all machines on local network have dns pointing to dns01 > > How should I set up dns01 and dns02 so all machines on the network will > see the virtual hosts created by virtualmin? > > Thanks! > > Barry > > Jamie Cameron wrote: > > Currently, no .. but allow different features (like DNS, web, etc) to > be > > on different hosts is a long-term project. > > > > Actually, I just thought of one way to put DNS on another host - use > the > > existing cluster slave servers feature in the BIND module, and make sure > > the NS records in your DNS zones don't include the master server. > > > > - Jamie > > > > On 27/Oct/2006 15:20 Barry wrote .. > >> Speaking of delegating name servers.... > >> > >> Is there a way to have virtualmin update its dns records on a dns > >> server not running on localhost? > >> > >> Best, > >> > >> Barry > >> Jamie Cameron wrote: > >>> On 27/Oct/2006 10:55 Matt wrote .. > >>> > >>>> Hi.. if I have the domain secondary.mydomain.com how (in webmin) do > I > >>>> tell bind to delegate that subdomain/zone to DNS server > >>>> ns5.mydomain.com ? > >>>> > >>> > >>> Create an NS record in mydomain.com named secondary, with ns5.mydomain.com > >>> as the name server. > >>> > >>> - Jamie > >>> > >> > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Using Tomcat but need to do more? Jamie - Can you (or someone else perhaps) be more specific? here is my situation: - dns lives on dns01.domain.com - host uses virtualmin to create virtual hosts, and can also have bind running, lets say bind is running on dns02.domain.com, which has the same IP as host - virtualmin creates dns record in dns02 - all machines on local network have dns pointing to dns01 How should I set up dns01 and dns02 so all machines on the network will see the virtual hosts created by virtualmin? Thanks! Currently, no .. but allow different features (like DNS, web, etc) to be on different hosts is a long-term project.

Actually, I just thought of one way to put DNS on another host - use the existing cluster slave servers feature in the BIND module, and make sure the NS records in your DNS zones don't include the master server.

=A0- Jamie

On 27/Oct/2006 15:20 Barry wrote .. <blockquote type=3D"cite"> Speaking of delegating name servers....

Is there a way to have virtualmin update its dns records on a dns server not running on localhost?

Best,

Barry
Jamie Cameron wrote: <blockquote type=3D"cite" cite=3D"https://mail.webmin.com:20000/mailbox/mid...@ww...">
On 27/Oct/2006 10:55 Matt wrote ..

<blockquote type=3D"cite">
Hi.. if I have the domain secondary.mydomain.com how (in webmin) do I
tell bind to delegate that subdomain/zone to DNS server
ns5.mydomain.com ?

Create an NS record in mydomain.com named secondary, with ns5.mydomain.com as the name server. - Jamie

|

>From inspecting the source of the Postfix module, it appears that the Postfix module does almost no logging to the Webmin Actions Log. Is this conclusion correct? If yes, will this ever be remedied? This is an issue because a customer of ours requires that changes to the Postfix configuration be auditable. We can roll our own change-auditing process, but it would be nice if Webmin was doing it for us. Thanks Dave I |
