These cron-jobs are installed with .debs or .rpms and will not be = removed when a package is removed. They do not do any harm to your system if they stay, so just leave them where and as they are. Hi folks, I removed sendmail from this box replacing it with postfix. # find / -name sendmail | grep etc /etc/cron.d/sendmail /etc/webmin/sendmail * end * found them there. I supposed they are on webmin. Webmin --> Servers found Sendmail Configuration still there. Shall I remove it. If YES please advise how to remove it. TIA Webmin --> System --> Scheduled Cron Jobs Root No test -x /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail && /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail cron-mta smmsp No test -x /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail && /usr/share/sendmail/sendmail cron-msp They are not working. Hi Jamie,
I am using webmin 1.300. I have a user call "x" and noticed that the
quota was displaying an unlimited hard inode quota in the webmin disk
quotas module. I created another user myself called "y" with a disk
quota and got a similar result. I manually changed the quota using the
command:
setquota -u y 100000 100090 250000 250090 /home
That looks like it worked correctly:
# quota y
Disk quotas for user y (uid 2223):
Filesystem blocks quota limit grace files quota limit
grace
/dev/sda4 1212 100000 100090 216 250000 250090
But in the webmin disk quota module it appears strange - see below
(apologies for the formatting):
User Hard % Used Soft Limit Hard Limit Grace Used Soft Limit Hard Limit
Grace
y 1% 1212 kB 98 MB 98 MB 216 25000 Unlimited 90
I was also wondering if the problem with totally numeric userid's in
this module I reported earlier is fixed in a new version of Webmin yet?
Regards
Murray

The location & format of the public key is different. Note this is *not* the same as SSH protocol 1 & 2. Both OpenSSH & SSH2 will talk protocol 1 & 2 quite happily. > Nope, the server always answer: > > "Server refused our key" > > I tried to configure a new user, before having configured webmin to > automatically create rsa key pair: > My Idea was "to spy" what webmin did > > I discoverd webmin creates a .ssh dir (not .ssh2) with the key pair and > without any authorization file Webmin is creating the keys for OpenSSH. > I configured ssh server to use ONLY ssh-2 protocol > > what can I try to do ? Double check what version of SSH your server is running & then you should be able to work out where & how to setup your keys. Also make sure the key & directory on the server aren't world writeable and are owned by the right user. -- David Derrick Entanet International Ltd http://www.enta.net 24/7 Helpdesk: 0870 2243494 |

Hi all, I am trying to create a public-private key for authentication via ssh, usable by putty os pscp I read a lot of docs, anyway I was not able to succed in doing this. I think the problem is that I am trying to create an SSH-2 key, using puttygen. I copied my public key in the /root/.ssh2 directory, I created the "authorization" file containing the key entry pointing to my .pub file in the same directory Nope, the server always answer: "Server refused our key" I tried to configure a new user, before having configured webmin to automatically create rsa key pair: My Idea was "to spy" what webmin did I discoverd webmin creates a .ssh dir (not .ssh2) with the key pair and without any authorization file I configured ssh server to use ONLY ssh-2 protocol what can I try to do ? thanks in advance, Andrea Chi ricevesse questa mail per errore e' gentilmente pregato di cancellarla. This may be an obvious question, but on the user creation form, are you selecting the second radio button in the 'Username' field? From the error, it sounds like you still have 'Anonymous user' selected.. - Jamie |

Hi I added the user via phpMyadmin ok. (i see webmin has added an anonymous user with no password and All hosts with Y in all the boxes. (i have deleted this user!) doing permissions on the user that i created as above i get the same null user permissions. Mark |

DB's
now i cannot see the username so i tried to add same again and webmin said
Failed to save user : SQL insert into user
(Host,User,Password,Select_priv,Insert_priv,Update_priv,Delete_priv,Create_priv,Drop_priv,Reload_priv,Shutdown_priv,Process_priv,File_priv,Grant_priv,References_priv,Index_priv,Alter_priv)
values ('', '', '', 'Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y')

Check that in the Sendmail module, on the Module Config page, the 'Full path to sendmail pid files' is set correctly.
