If you have Apache running on your server and a real internet-accessible hostname, you can request a Let's Encrypt cert at Webmin -> Webmin Configuration -> SSL Encryption. I install the vsFTPD module; although it is not needed since most of the config is done manually. However, I can only get one of the users to be able to log in. All others get a login incorrect error even when the correct user and password is entered. proFTPD is offline as I never could get it to connect even to one user's virtual server. If anyone can help me understand this I will buy you a virtual beer LOL -Kimberly |

Right now there's no way to customize the Nginx config - all you can do is add extra custom directives at Features and Plugins -> Configure (next to Nginx) |

So after "some" digging and T&E, I finally managed to get Webmin, Virtualmin, and nginx to play, ish. I cannot seem to change the default configuration for nginx, when Virtualmin creates new sites. Where is that configured. I've been looking both in the web interface and in /etc/webmin for something suitable to edit, but I can't seem to find anything. All sites I create get "odd" settings, such as "listen <ip address>" instead of just "listen 80" (for example). -joho |

Subject: [webmin-l] Allow Virtual Servers to use ProFTPD I am guessing that I just don't have things set up correctly to allow virtual servers to use proFTPD. I am unable to connect by ftp to the virtual server. I have to allow someone else to ftp into the website directory and I don't want them to go through ssh or port 22 and because they can move beyond the website home directory. When trying to connect to proFTPD on port 21; and I even shut the firewall to make sure it was not a firewall issue, I get the following: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. Connection failed. I assume that since proFTPD ships with virtualmin that it can be used to allow ftp connections to virtual s ervers website directories. Therefore, it must be a user error on my part. So if someone can provide a tutorial on what I need to do to allow virtual servers ftp access I will sign your praise to everyone I meet. -Kimberly ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot- Forwarded by the Webmin mailing list at web...@li...
