Hi, all I'm happy to announce the availability of our new wiki site: http://vcd.cosoft.org.cn/ All files pasted; status updated: http://vcd.cosoft.org.cn/index.php/TranslateRightNow Please do check it out. And if you find anything wrong or needed to get updated, just edit it _directly_. So let us be naughty again to spread this news. =) Regards, |

Yeah, I *can* change every page and and "last summary". Wiki has that 'History' thing. So i think we can easily go back to an earlier version. And it also has other backup mechanisms, ie. dump a zip archive (well, not familiar with that right now; i think 'History' suffices; i can take a look if we need the dump function). Regards, |

Homepage updated: http://vcd.cosoft.org.cn/beta/ Added some items(news, downloads, shots, etc.). Also a favorite icon and a new aqua-lized vim logo. =) TranslatRightNow page updated too: http://vcd.cosoft.org.cn/beta/index.php/TranslateRightNow Status showed for respective files. Once all translated files (that we have done in vimcdoc-0.6.0) pasted to the wiki, i'd make it official. Well, this wiki thing is to ease the updating process and to attract more ppl to view/translate/review/ our docs. You know, somebody just comes by and may edit one word/line/paragrah/section/file... So i think the CVS thing should remain so that we can make releases as usual. You just dont have to commit to cvs that frequently (instead, update the wiki). And when we're about to make a new vimcdoc tarball, our translators only need to commit those finished 'final works'. Glad to know what you think about all this. Regards, |

Hi all me, wandys. =) Quite quiet in our ML... Anyway, i just set up a wiki for our project. You can now reach it at: http://vcd.cosoft.org.cn/beta/ I think this way is more convenient for our translators to update works. And, due to wiki's openness nature, we can attract more 'casual' contributers to help. I just put a sample here: http://vcd.cosoft.org.cn/beta/index.php/help.txt Very simple. Click the edit (or create) link and then put: <verbatim> ####Just Copy & Paste Your Work(plain txt) Here#### </verbatim> So tell me what you guys think of this. I hope our VCD respective translators would like to put his/her translated *.txt files to the wiki site first. And then we, hopefully with more others, can refine and polish them together. (Also, translate those docs that we havent yet done). If you like it after tying it out, i'd move it from /beta to / . Do tell me if you have any problems in using this wiki. I'm glad to help. Thanks & Regards, |

The problem is mainly caused by the mixture of Chinese characters and English letters existing within our translated docs (actually, at the beginning of some lines where tabs follow for indention). To display them properly, we should use fixed-width characters to show them, and the width of a Chinese character be twice as wide as that of a English letter. That said, it depends on the client side, the browser's configurations, which are varied. Example: If you run a text browser, such as links, on a fixed-width terminal to view http://vcd.cosoft.org.cn/doc/quickref.html, you can end up with the correct indention. Well, i personally dont think it a big problem, as most users would use *.txt files within Vim. And html files remain only for simple or quick reference. Just remind that we should keep the *.txt format as in the original English docs during translating. Regards, |
