Hello Trinux-talk, i´ve several questions: 1. My netcard is a d-link DFE530TX. So i must install the via-rhine.o as a modul, because otherwise my netcard won´t be recogniced. But which way i have to do this, that it will work at boottime. I don´t know where i have to put which commands and on which place. I try a lot, but don´t find the right solution. For now i put the via-rhine.o file in the root of the disk and install it with insmod. But this is a bad solution, because i have to install all the network things by hand. Please help me. 2. Which way it is possible to use the mc.tkg. When i start mc it breaks down the console with a overflow message. Any ideas ? Trinux seems to be a very fantastic solution for me to backup and restore about 10 win-clients with nfs and the linux-server. This is the reason why i try this all and my problem is i´ve to do this work tomorrow. -- THX Klaus mailto:ma...@gm... |

Hi, Shane, Under Nero (www.ahead.de), there is an option under the 'File' menu called "Burn Image". Under Easy CD Creator v4.02 there is a similar option called "Create CD Image". Basically, what you need to do is choose that option, select "Show All Files", navigate to the ISO, and then burn it. This will recreate the contents of the ISO on your CDR. You will not end up with an ISO file on your CDR...it will be the bootable drive structure. Hope this helps. I created a dos partition in the c: drive and made a trinux dorectory, copied the packages inside that dir. when I boot from trinux-0.80rc2-ide floppy it reports "No IDE partitions found" and "Loading packages from /floppy" while it correctly recognizes the hard drive as /dev/hda and the partition as /dev/hda1. is there any workaround ?... Thanks for adding the pcmcia-pcnet package, however I found with my pcmpc100 that also uses the pcnet module I had to add the 8390.o file to the pcmcia-pcnet package inorder for it to work. Just a head's up. -jt |

Do I need to add an > entry to tux/kpkglist in order load the module on boot? > I didn't get the kernel config, must have been blocked. It looks like the Accton EN2242 uses this driver: http://www.trinux.org/pkg/2.4.5/pcmcia-pcnet.tgz If you are booting off the pcmcia floppy then you could add it (after deleting the 3com, xircom, tulip, eepro) and then do a network load. I have not tested the pcnet driver so I'm not sure if it works. I think the ISO Image I released did not have pcmcia-bin.tgz so unless you build your own, you might be out of luck. If you do build your own add the pcmcia-pcnet.tgz (as well as pcmcia-bin, and pcmcia-coremods) to the pkglist (not kpkglist) on the boot floppy you use to burn the cd. I will probably release a smaller ISO image (rc3) in a day or two that fixes the hanging problem when no floppy is present. -mdf |
