hi i'm having a problem with syncing my contacts on iphone with my.funambol.comusing the funambol app. Here's my setup: outlook 2003 at home and at work (with exchange server but locally stored contacts), iphone with funambol app 0.7. i'm trying to sync all with my funambol.com having made the first upload to it from my work computer. the first sync with iphone worked great and i have all the contacts on my phone. now updating seems to be a problem and i can't figure out why. sync between the two computers running outlook works just fine. looking at the log file i get following info: 1) sync mode is slow 2) unnamed contacts (I can't figure out which those would be) 3) Error in syncing: server faulure: server returned error code -1 any ideas on this matter? your help is highly appreciated. regards Renzo |

Hey Andrea, The appointments are showing up properly in the webdemo. I get the four hour offset when looking at the entries in the DB. For instance, April 12th is my birthday. I have two events. My Birthday (All Day) and My Birthday Party (4pm - 6pm) When I view the entries in the DB (MySQL using HeidiSQL): My Birthday Party (dstart and dend) is 2008-04-12 16:00:00 / 2008-04-12 17:00:00 My Birthday Party is 2008-04-11 20:00:00 / 2008-04-12 19:59:00 That four hour offset is making life tough on the web client I'm writing. It seems that maybe my query is wrong? Is the EPOCH time conversion not being done in the same fashion? When I pull out the dates as a unix_timestamp it still gives me the time with the -4 hr offset. (EST) Thanks for your help on this. It's really throwing me off. E -----Original Message----- From: syn...@li... [mailto:syn...@li...] On Behalf Of Andrea Toccalini Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2008 12:03 PM To: syn...@li... Subject: Re: [funambol-users] All Day Appointments using Outlook Plug-in off by 4 Hours Hi Evan, I took a look to your log and everything seems fine to me. The all-day events are transferred correctly to the Server, so for example if you should see them as all-day in the Server webdemo. Where do you see those events shifted by 4 hours exactly? Can you confirm that, if you modify one of those appointment on the Server and sync back to Outlook, they are still all-day events? Bye, Toccy > Hey guys, > > I figured I'd toss my own thread out here about a curious syncing behavior I'm having. When I sync via the Outlook Funambol plugin, my All Day Appointments time seems to be off by 4 hours. I'm at EST, so I figure that it might have something to do with that. > > All regular appointments are fine, but All Day ones are off. I upped the logging to debug, but I don't exactly understand what's going on with the data provided. Hi Evan, I took a look to your log and everything seems fine to me. The all-day events are transferred correctly to the Server, so for example if you should see them as all-day in the Server webdemo. Where do you see those events shifted by 4 hours exactly? Can you confirm that, if you modify one of those appointment on the Server and sync back to Outlook, they are still all-day events? Hey guys, I figured I'd toss my own thread out here about a curious syncing behavior I'm having. The log is available here: http://teledini.com/evanslog.txt Thanks for all your help, Evan |

Hi Stefan, have tried the latest version (0.4.3)? The All Day Event issue should be fixed. Hey Stefan, I've been having some issues with All Day appointments as well. I'm using the Outlook plugin and it seems that my Add Day Appointments get shifted back by four hours, while my ordinary appointments are correct. What is the timestamp in your case? E -----Original Message----- From: syn...@li... [mailto:syn...@li...] On Behalf Of Stefan Kuegler Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2008 7:02 AM To: syn...@li... Subject: [funambol-users] problem with the sync of all-day-events in thunderbird-plugin Hello. I found a problem in the thunderbird-plugin with the sync of all-day events. I tested it with the following procedure: 1. I created a new all-day event "test". This event begins on 2008-05-05 and it ends on 2008-05-09. 2. I started a sync 3. After the sync, I opened the event in the web-demo-client. The event still begins on 2008-05-05, but the ending-time has been changed. The new ending-time is 2008-05-08. The last day is 'lost'. After that, I did the same test on my windows-mobile-PDA and everything works fine. So I think this behaviour is a sync-problem in the thunderbird-client. Hey Guys, I've written a little web-based frontend to our Funambol database. I think I must be missing something simple in the sync flags, because it won't pull down the changes I make. When I update a contact record, I flip the status to 'U', and update the last_updated flag. Unfortunately, it won't pull the changes down when I run the sync from the Outlook plugin. Do I need to update any other entries? I imagine the last_sync table gets updated as well, but I'm not exactly sure what values need to be changed. Thanks for you help! E |

Hi John, you should check another log file on the client, "notlstnr.txt" which is placed under the root directory of your device. This log is the one used by the push service, there you should see what Marco said. I have been trying to get my wife's new Blackberry to synchronize with Funambol 6.5.14. All I get is "Malformed Address. Returning null connection." When I tshark on the funambol server I do not see any packets from her mobile phone even attempting to reach server. When I open the browser on the same phone I can see the normal Funambol information page. I have tried messing with the apn and gateway without positive results. If you have a Verizon Blackberry and could share how you did it or any other helpful information it will be appreciated. If someone can tell me how to get the log off the Blackberry I will send it. I would love to get this figured out so she can keep her information synchronized with her BlackBerry, Mac, webmail, Outlook, Thunderbird, Maemo, and Evolution. Todd Johnson |

In Email & PIM bundle 6.9.14 for win32, I ran install-modules.cmd in order to install Phil's Funambol-SugarCRM Connector. Now when I start DS and launch the Admin tool, Admin tool reports version 6.9.14, but version 6.9.12 of the running server. The system tray icon reports 6.9.14. This causes Admin Tool to popup an alert message regarding a newer version available. Is it possible that something referring to 6.9.12 was left behind in 6.9.14 code? |

thanks Marco, But if the ctp-server ignore the notification message, this means the device is not connected to the ctp-server. in the client log file, after the message "Address notification failed, STP not available (code 421)" you should see something like: [DEBUG] - Starting ctpWorker thread [DEBUG] - Open CTP connection... Hi .. I wonder if someone can tll me exactly how I am going wrong.. I have synced my funambol with thunderbird no problem. I have installed the native sync app on my iPhone no problem. I set up the server name (http://my.funambol.com/sync) and my user id and password and saved it but when I sync it says sync failed and the config details are gone. It's like I never pressed the save button. But I did. I've gone through this several times and can never get the iphone to accept the config and do the sync. I'm probably missing something simple here and am wondering if anyone has any pointers. Thanks, ralph Baer |

Hi Marcin, I had this exact problem just last week. The solution for me was to: 1. Upgrade Visual Studio to SP1 (which I had not previously done) 2. Install The Windows Mobile PocketPC (which I /had/ previously done, but did it again) After I did step 2, the problem mysteriously went away. None of the reasons you might find online (about Visual Studio) explain why the builds skipped, and there was no documentation saying that SP1 was required for Windows Mobile Development, but it worked for me :). If this doesn't work, then maybe I just got lucky ;). Write back! ~Mike Taczak -----Original Message----- From: Marcin Kawelski <kar...@o2...> Sent: Wednesday, April 9, 2008 2:10am To: syn...@li... Thanks Marco, I am still having some issues so if you can assist further that would be excellent as I am unsure where to look next to resolve this - I am still getting the messages from the CTP server about ignoring it I've verified that jgroups is working and the two windows come up and work ok with demos.draw etc so doesn't look like there is any underlying comms/network problem. To get jgroups.demos.draw working I had to change preferIPv4Stack=true and I put this option in all the startup.sh and ctpserver.sh with a -D option. ctp-server.log [2008-04-09 10:19:13,287] [funambol.ctp.server.notification] [TRACE] [OOB Thread,ctp-notification-group,192.168.20.30:32833] Ignoring notification message for 'fwm-355831010114675' [2008-04-09 10:21:16,203] [funambol.ctp.server.notification] [TRACE] [OOB Thread,ctp-notification-group,192.168.20.30:32833] Ignoring notification message for 'fjm-1187bff318fb6da1dbf' [2008-04-09 10:21:16,264] [funambol.ctp.server.notification] [TRACE] [OOB Thread,ctp-notification-group,192.168.20.30:32833] Ignoring notification message for 'fwm-355831010118064' [2008-04-09 10:21:16,360] [funambol.ctp.server.notification] [TRACE] [OOB Thread,ctp-notification-group,192.168.20.30:32833] Ignoring notification message for 'fwm-355831010118213' ds-server.log [2008-04-09 10:21:16,329] [funambol.server.notification] [TRACE] [269A07D3AA7523AFD92A45AF6336C8AC] [fwm-355831010118213] [jhamill] [mail] Sending message '70F45FF17B5ABD16CE29FA27D2F870C2031800000000000866756E616D626F6C1060000 306046D61696C' to 'com.funambol.framework.server.Sync4jDevice@a20981[deviceId=fwm-35583101 0118213,description=Moto with JH,type=motoQ-JH,client_nonce=,server_nonce=,serverPassword=fnbl,timeZon e=Australia/Sydney,convertDatePolicy=CONVERT_DATE,charset=UTF-8,address= ,msisdn=0410438900,notificationBuilder=com/funambol/server/notification/ DSNotificationBuilder.xml,notificationSender=com/funambol/server/notific ation/PushSender.xml]' [2008-04-09 10:21:16,330] [funambol.server.notification.ctp-sender] [TRACE] [269A07D3AA7523AFD92A45AF6336C8AC] [fwm-355831010118213] [jhamill] [mail] Dispatching notification message...
