Subject: Re: [funambol-users] Error opening Outlook folder for source 'contact' with path '\\Lokale opslag\Contacts'. Hi, do you have some other Outlook addin installed? There could be conflicts with some software that uses the COM library like Funambol Outlook plugin, usually antivirus software or other Outlook addins (like 'mobile PhoneTools'). You can try to stop or remove them. Do you get the same error also on other item types, like Calendar or Tasks? For example you can select to sync only Calendars from the plugin options dialog, and see if the error is the same. You can also try to select a different Contacts folder to sync, and see if the error persists. Finally you can also try to reinstall Microsoft Outlook 2003, maybe it's just your Microsoft Outlook APIs that are not working correctly. Let me know for any news. bye, Toccy Hi all, Recently a colleague of mine's Funambol plugin started failing synchronization. The following errors were mentioned in the log (full debug-level log of a failed sync attached) for each sync source: 15:00:53 GMT +1:00 [ERROR] - COM Pointer Error. Code = d074010f: Unknown error 0xD074010F 15:00:53 GMT +1:00 [ERROR] - Outlook Exception. - Unable to initialize Outlook Folder. 15:00:53 GMT +1:00 [ERROR] - Error opening Outlook folder for source 'contact' with path '\\Lokale opslag\Contacts'. 15:00:53 GMT +1:00 [ERROR] - Error in begin sync of source 'contact'. First of all we've tried linking the contacts folder to a newly created PST to try and rule out corruption there. While selecting the folder works perfectly, it still doesn't synchronize. Googling showed that this was sometimes caused by having Google Desktop Search installed, but this isn't the case for this machine. Further googling seems to indicate that it's a problem with an old version of redemption.dll, so we've tried unregistering / uninstalling the redemption.dll from Funambol (the only one on the machine) and replacing it with a newer version (4.5.x instead of 4.4.x). This still didn't solve the problem. After clearing every mention of Funambol and redemption from the register manually (after uninstalling Funambol and unregistering redemption.dll), we've tried reinstalling the Funambol client, but still get the same error. We've also tried, against all logic and common sense, after all the above steps, to install Google Desktop Search. Yet still the error persists. We're syncing against a horde HEAD backend (updated this morning), but as far as I can tell it doesn't even get to the backend because the sync fails before that. We're using Funambol Outlook plugin 6.5.8. Hi Renzo, I'm trying to investingate on your problem... you could do a couple of things to help me investigate... - first of all try to set the log level to DEBUG to do this you have to modify the /private/var/mobile/.sync4j/evolution/funambol/spds/syncml/config.txt to do this you need an ssh access to the iphone. when you are modifying the settings just look for # level of detail for log messages: # - 0 (or unset) = INFO messages without log file, DEBUG with log file # - 1 = only ERROR messages # - 2 = also INFO messages # - 3 = also DEBUG messages loglevel = 2 change the value from 2 to 3... sync and send us the new log - than you can tell me also your userid used on myfunambol so I can look into the server logs to find your sync and see what happened thank you Teo On Sat, Apr 12, 2008 at 12:37 AM, Renzo Peduzzi <ren...@gm...> wrote: > Hello Marco > > I'm using Firmware 1.1.1.4 > > not sure what the first log said, but something like "garbage found...* > > here's the log file of my latest sync attempt (I replaced the names with > 'Standard User'): > > > > 22:16:35 GMT +0200 [INFO] - Hi, I'm new to funambol. I already have a struts application and funambol ds server deployed on the same tomcat server(i just installed it yesterday). Now I want to extend my struts application to talk to funambol server, says to allow user to update their contact book either by mobile application or through my web interface. Can anyone tell me where to start? The documents on funambol website only talk about J2ME. Thai |

Hi, I'm using a version of begin April of the ZimbraConnector. I am familiar with the thread you mention and have posted (user BarBaar I believe) in it before I arrived here ;) However, last time I checked, I haven't seen anyone actually getting the E65 to work. I did read about someone trying it though. However, I am not sure if I have a problem with Funambol, or with the Zimbra plugin. Hi, Thanks! My guess would be that the phone is expecting another request from Funambol. But it is not received, that with explain the "no response from server" error being displayed on the phone. Cheers, Bart ----- Original Message ----- From: "gilberto yahoo" <gbm...@ya...> To: syn...@li... I hate to post and then fix my own problem. I deleted the @vzw.blackberry.net account and wiped the blackberry. Then I told verizon to send my phone the service books again. Setup funambol and it worked. I am still not seeing true push email from funambol with polling. I see it checking my inbox(maillog), and checking with the funambol server(ds log), but I do not see the message. I was hoping with the polling that this could do something like push email for near instant notifications. If I am doing something wrong please tell me. If logs are needed I can upload them and post links. Todd On Thu, 2008-04-10 at 22:18 -0500, Todd Johnson wrote: > I have gotten 2 other identical blackberry's to work. Since you get a slow sync I assume a previous sync failed for some reason. Is there any chance you checked the log file at the very first sync that failed? Hi Carlo. > Hi Stefan, > have tried the latest version (0.4.3)? The All Day Event issue should be fixed. > > Carlo Yes, I have. I started a new test with the same result. But in this test, I enabled the trace-log on the server-side to see the difference between the thunderbird-client and the windows-mobile-client. Here are the interesting parts of the logfile where you can see the difference: client: thunderbird-client v0.4.3 server: funambol ds-server v6.0.6 5-day-event from 2008-05-05 to 2008-05-09. Hi, could you try to cleanup the email using the Menu->Cleanup? This should reset all the mail in the Funambol account and likely the flags set by OS. Please let me know if it works. Hello Renzo, what firwmare version are you using? Since you get a slow sync I assume a previous sync failed for some reason. Is there any chance you checked the log file at the very first sync that failed? Anyway, could you please post the entire log file? Thanks for your feedback. I had also gotten this error when sending mail from this account and when running blackberry verizon diagnostics. I am going to try to see if verizon can fix it or if i can get the phone replaced. Hi Toccy THanks for the information. that was very very helpful. It turned out our Firewall was blocking port 4745. As soon as it's added to allow traffic through on our external firewall everything started working with with push notifications on our natted connections. john _____ From: Andrea Toccalini [mailto:toc...@fu...] Sent: Thursday, 10 April 2008 6:36 PM To: syn...@li... Subject: Re: [funambol-users] Using CTP Hi John, you should check another log file on the client, "notlstnr.txt" which is placed under the root directory of your device. This log is the one used by the push service, there you should see what Marco said. Regards, Toccy thanks Marco, But if the ctp-server ignore the notification message, this means the device is not connected to the ctp-server. in the client log file, after the message "Address notification failed, STP not available (code 421)" you should see something like: [DEBUG] - Starting ctpWorker thread [DEBUG] - Open CTP connection... [INFO] - Starting a new SOCKET connection [DEBUG] - Find the server address... [INFO] - HOSTNAME = '<your host name>' PORT = '4745' [INFO] - Succesfully connected to <your host name>! how do I go about troubleshooting where to follow this up? Subject: Re: [funambol-users] Using CTP Hi John, actually if you see the message "Ignoring notification message for 'fwm-355831010114675'" in the ctp-server log file this means the ctp-server is receiving the udp messages sent by the ds-server, so there is no issue in JGroups communication. But if the ctp-server ignore the notification message, this means the device is not connected to the ctp-server. in the client log file, after the message "Address notification failed, STP not available (code 421)" you should see something like: [DEBUG] - Starting ctpWorker thread [DEBUG] - Open CTP connection... To get jgroups.demos.draw working I had to change preferIPv4Stack=true and I put this option in all the startup.sh and ctpserver.sh with a -D option. ctp-server.log [2008-04-09 10:19:13,287] [funambol.ctp.server.notification] [TRACE] [OOB Thread,ctp-notification-group,MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "192.168.20.30:32833" claiming to be MailScanner warning: numerical links are often malicious: 192.168.20.30:32833] Ignoring notification message for 'fwm-355831010114675' [2008-04-09 10:21:16,203] [funambol.ctp.server.notification] [TRACE] [OOB Thread,ctp-notification-group,MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "192.168.20.30:32833" claiming to be MailScanner warning: numerical links are often malicious: 192.168.20.30:32833] Ignoring notification message for 'fjm-1187bff318fb6da1dbf' [2008-04-09 10:21:16,264] [funambol.ctp.server.notification] [TRACE] [OOB Thread,ctp-notification-group,MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "192.168.20.30:32833" claiming to be MailScanner warning: numerical links are often malicious: 192.168.20.30:32833] Ignoring notification message for 'fwm-355831010118064' [2008-04-09 10:21:16,360] [funambol.ctp.server.notification] [TRACE] [OOB Thread,ctp-notification-group,MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "192.168.20.30:32833" claiming to be MailScanner warning: numerical links are often malicious: 192.168.20.30:32833] Ignoring notification message for 'fwm-355831010118213' ds-server.log [2008-04-09 10:21:16,329] [funambol.server.notification] [TRACE] [269A07D3AA7523AFD92A45AF6336C8AC] [fwm-355831010118213] [jhamill] [mail] Sending message '70F45FF17B5ABD16CE29FA27D2F870C2031800000000000866756E616D626F6C1 060000306046D61696C' to 'com.funambol.framework.server.Sync4jDevice@a20981[deviceId=fwm-35 5831010118213,description=Moto with JH,type=motoQ-JH,client_nonce=,server_nonce=,serverPassword=fnbl,t imeZone=Australia/Sydney,convertDatePolicy=CONVERT_DATE,charset=UT F-8,address=,msisdn=0410438900,notificationBuilder=com/funambol/se rver/notification/DSNotificationBuilder.xml,notificationSender=com /funambol/server/notification/PushSender.xml]' [2008-04-09 10:21:16,330] [funambol.server.notification.ctp-sender] [TRACE] [269A07D3AA7523AFD92A45AF6336C8AC] [fwm-355831010118213] [jhamill] [mail] Dispatching notification message...
