[funambol-users] Nokia E65 + Zimbra

Hi All,

I am trying to setup Funambol with the ZimbraConnector and I believe I've come pretty far;

I can see the phone connecting to Funambol en sending contacts. However, at the end of the sync, the phone gives an error "server not responding". If I look into Zimbra after the sync, none of my contacts appear

In the logs I can see the connection is being setup and data is being send/received. I noticed the following in the ds-server.log:

Does this mean no vcards are received by Funambol? I do believe they are being send!

I did not install any extra software on the E65 and am using the standard synctools from the address book.

The Funambol supports synchronization with the option "Only from" the
synthesis?
In my Treo 650 appears DB not found with this option!

this is a known issue mapping. each mobile device is different we are 
developing the "synclet" for the OX server and the different mobile device.

As per your document wise I have installed & configured the Funambol Ds
Server. Is working outside web demo application and funambol server.

 

But is not sync with mobile device. As during  error occurred 

 

Please can you send the Detail Documentations? Please do the needful

on the device you just have to set Menu -> Settings -> Menu -> Sync Method
-> "Push Service".
Please send also the log file: Menu -> About Funambol -> Menu -> Logging

Hi

you can only increase the number of the email in the funambol cache system.
1) admin tool -> modules -> email connector
2) open the details of the user you are using
3) increase the max email number

you cannot choose to get just the "new/unread" email. you can handle the 
newest 'max email number' emails

Over the time, the number of unread messages on my phone increases more
and more, although there are no unread messages. It looks like the
plugin or pocket outlook does not look into the folder to count the
unread messages, but keeps its own counter that is out of sync with the
actual folder contents.

Currently, it shows 35 unread messages, although there are only 13
messages in total in the inbox (all are read). When I get a new message,
I thus don't get a preview in the notification, but a message I have 36
unread messages.

Hi Peter,
actually the message "Ignoring notification message for <device_id>" in the
ctp-server log file is not an error message: it simply state that there is
no device with id <device_id> connected to the ctp-server, so the ctp-server
may ignore the udp notification message received from the ds-server.
In order to see why the device is not connected try to grep the ctp-server
log file with the <device_id> and also look at the device log file.
There could be a network issue that prevent the device to connect to the
ctp-server or there could be also a protocol issue.
In fact from the log you sent it seems that the client is unable to
authenticate. Probably is due to a misconfiguration.
Look at the "WSServerInformation" section in the CTPServerConfiguration.xml
config file. It must be like

[funambol-users] Phantom unread messages on Windows Mobile Plugin

Hi!

I have the Windows Mobile Plugin 6.5.18 running, Currently, I have 13
messages in my Inbox, 35 of them unread. Of course, none of the 13 real
messages are unread. How can I reset the "unread"-counter?

I have exactly the same problem, or at least see the same error
messages. I have recently posted several mails describing the
circumstances and what I have tried to do. Please check my mails with
subject: "Re: [funambol-users] enable push email features".

In these mails I have included sections of the ds-server.log and
ctp-server.log which show these messages.  I also noted in the
ctp-server.log some errors like this:

I just updated to 4.2 and found that one of my Thunderbirds crash three 
times before i worked. (I haven't yet continued juggling syncs back and 
fourth to see if this was just a break-in period ;) )

And thank my lucky stars -- beforehand I read  Pierre's note about 
Lightning 0.7 vs 0.8, but not the bit about not being able to go 
backward. I'm glad I unchecked those pesky boxes.

thanks for your infos. In general our funambol WAS always working - we set it up
(bundle and then ox-connector) and it worked well.

1) Is there any reason for that (no sync for sent/trash) or is a sync planned
for future versions?

2) Must the modified JAD file also copied to the mobile to work correctly?

3) even after correct setting of "oxcard" no contacts where synced to Java ME
Client, because on OXEE mostly business email and/or private email adresses are
filled out.  These fields are not considered during sync for Java ME client
(because there is no "standard email" within OXEE

in order to sync a syncml client (a java ME client) you have to install a 
bundled version and after the OX module.
After this operation you should have on your server the following processes:
1 funambol ds server + email connector + ox connector
2 Inbox-listner
3 ox-listener

the email connector should sync the email and the ox connector should sync

remeber to configure the mail server in the Email Connector configuration 
panel (in the admin tool)
remeber to configure the ox server in the OX Connector configuration panel 
(in the admin tool)

    Downgrading from 0.8 to 0.7 will not be possible due to the internal database 
    changes. 

Luckily I do have a backup of my profile directory....

And I only did the upgrade on 1 of 2 machines, so could easily recover a 
working 0.7 installation.

I took a closer look at the Funambol source code and found out that I 
was looking at the wrong location. The file that seems to cause my 
problem is:

modules\foundation\src\java\com\funambol\foundation\pdi\converter\CalendarToIcalendar.java

To fix the vCalendar/iCalendar problem, I'd like to submit a patch to 
this file. Not sure if this is the right place; if it's not, please 
correct me.

The patch basically just checks if the version of the {v|i}Calendar in 
question is "2.0". If this is the case, it won't add 000000 and 235900 
anymore.

[funambol-users] iCalendar (2.0) and all-day events

Hello everybody!

I'm trying to sync an all-day event with the Funambol extension for 
Thunderbird/Lightning. As Lightning only supports the iCalendar 2.0 
format [iCalendar] instead of the vCalendar 1.0 format [vCalendar], I 
made my extension send the MIME type "text/calendar" instead of 
"text/x-vcalendar" (as defined in the specifications). I made it also 
send the version (2.0):

I was hoping that the problem with all-day events lasting from 00:00 to 
23:59 would be solved this way. However, this is unfortunately not the case.

I started looking through the source of Funambol and found the file 
"modules/foundation/src/java/com/funambol/foundation/pdi/converter/CalendarToIcalendar.java" 
[CalToICal] with the method composeFieldDtEnd().

The method contains the following piece of code:

 From my understanding, this is not correct. Unlike [vCalendar], 
[iCalendar] supports all-day events by leaving out the time value in 
DTSTART and DTEND:

DTSTART:20080404
DTEND:20080405

So why do the methods composeFieldDtStart() and composeFieldDtEnd() in

respectively?

Go into the settings for the plugin, you'll find a way to change your device 
id on the advanced tab.
