did you really trade mark that, or is it just for effect? On Fri, 18 Feb 2005 15:13:44 -0500 (EST) "S.Groundwater" <sl...@gl...> wrote: > SuperTux Badguy(TM). > |

Thanks for the nice words Ivan. I initially laid out the round windows with bolts just as you described. It just took a lot of work defining the tiles in flexlay, so I posted the basic concept to gage feedback. (I'm new here so there was a small learning curve, things should go faster now) I'll be away somewhere warm for a few days, upon return I'll post the windows. I did these tiles for the fun of it, they are not in the specs. My goal for the next month is stay on topic and post out some graphics that have been listed in the wiki as needed. go Tux. > Anyway, if Tux is meant to run through the tubes, you should make some > "windows", so the player can avoid enemies inside the tube, watch Tux > jump, > etc. I suggest making a round window (with ribets or screws at the bord= er > of > it), 2x2 size. > > - -- > - ---------------------------------- > Iv=E1n S=E1nchez Ortega <iva...@es...> > <iv...@ac...> > > El hombre aislado se siente d=E9bil, y lo es.- Concepci=F3n Arenal. > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) > > iD8DBQFCFi3gR56dWuhgxGgRAsusAJ0Q6sTWK/9rLbVYKC6fY2KidqJHsgCfaO4U > QWwv8M7G7zSRFQEr9zidmIs=3D > =3DGR9M > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- vel > |

Nice sound stunt. It sounds dark, like the music of a dangerous hidden cave. In my head I could hear some groove beat percussions kicking in. Made me feel like something was comming to get me. I could see this tune just before we get to meet a new SuperTux Badguy(TM). > > Hello! > Toying around with MIDI software, I created a "remix" of one of the > SuperTux tunes, Forest2. Anyway, if Tux is meant to run through the tubes, you should make some "windows", so the player can avoid enemies inside the tube, watch Tux jump, etc. I suggest making a round window (with ribets or screws at the border of it), 2x2 size. - -- - ---------------------------------- Iván Sánchez Ortega <iva...@es...> <iv...@ac...> El hombre aislado se siente débil, y lo es.- Concepción Arenal. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFCFi3gR56dWuhgxGgRAsusAJ0Q6sTWK/9rLbVYKC6fY2KidqJHsgCfaO4U QWwv8M7G7zSRFQEr9zidmIs= =GR9M -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Hello! Toying around with MIDI software, I created a "remix" of one of the SuperTux tunes, Forest2. It has a completely different atmosphere so I can't really imagine using it somewhere in the game, but it might be interesting anyway; so here's the link: http://www.tu-bs.de/~y0019680/music/na_forest2-remix.ogg Feedback welcome! :) Marek |

wow! nice! they look a little like the old supertux, nothing like Mario, and a little like the space station level in superfrog! (but they're more crystalline than all of those.) overall, nice work. After Grumbel helped me get Flexlay working (thanks) I was able to create some new Tube tiles for Tux to run through. They're posted at the top of my sandbox page with a thumbnail link showing a screen shot in of them in play. Also posted is a Tube_Tile.stgt file which includes definitions for the tileset for use with Flexlay. (this file goes into "tilesets/supertux.stgt") I don't have write access so if someone wants to get this into CVS please feel free. http://gluebox.com/creatures/BlueRockz/index.html Comments and criticisms are welcome. |

Swedish translations for supertux. I have not played all levels so some of the impossible to translate levels named may have rooms for improvements. Feedback welcome. My kids are also bad bug reporters so I don't get to know all errors. Although complete files; it was easiesto to create a diff. cd supertux; patch <sv.diff -- robin |

Does the config file exists and is it owned by you, with read/write access? ls -la /home/rob/.supertux/config You should be able to remove the .supertux directory and it will recreate. rm -Rf /home/rob/.supertux/config Where did you get ST from, did you build from source or download a rpm, what version do you have? http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/3/i386/supertux-0.1.2-1.i386.rpm What kind of video card do you have? Can you run other games like chromium? Has the game ever run? Check this line in the config file, and maybe trade out this setting: ;; either "opengl" or "sdl" (video "sdl") Do you have opengl/sdl setup properly? Try running /usr/X11R6/bin/glxgears -info - Good Luck, SuperTux is worth the energy. > Hi there, > I can't seem to get Supertux running with FC3. Hello everyone! I'm still trying to create a Windows build of supertux. I've installed Gentoo Linux and emerged xmingw32 and the associated packages. Now i run ./configure --host=i386-mingw32msvc --disable-opengl --disable-debug Everything works just fine, and even supertux.exe gets created. Unfortunately that file is sill in ELF-format and runs under Linux I'll attach my configure output, perhaps someone has a few pointers for me. Thanks for any advice! Christian |

This reminds me: Has anyone ever applied the "Zaurus-Patch" to the 0.1.2 branch of the supertux sources? For when you do get the chance: it actually may be better to include a link to Embedded Linux Software Index, since all the dependencies are also listed there (the game won't run on a fresh Zaurus ROM). This is the link to the SuperTux package: http://www.elsix.org/index.php?w=project&p=supertux Kind regards, Dennis |

See this: http://happypenguin.org/show?PPRacer#24110 Bah. Tux underwater would probably have to be closer to an Ecco the Dolphin game. Penguins are only clumsy and awkward on land, you know. Might make for a great segment of Supertux, though. A big contrast to the slow-ass Mario swimming levels. In other words, maybe SuperTux could have some underwater levels. The idea isn't bad. Thanks. A SuperTux fan. |

Dear SuperTux developers, I think I found a little bug in SuperTux 0.1.2. When you pick-up an extra life in level "Oh no! More snowballs!" and jump into the void, you do *not* lose a life -at all-. I guess you'd lose one and gain one, resulting with the same amount of lives left, but you end up with the old amount + 1. Cheers, Kees |

There is still a lot of work left to do from my understanding of it. OSS devs have other priorities that often have to come first. |

Well, it looks like it works if I run SuperTux by ./supertux, but not if I do a 'make install' and run it from a different directory (which will usually be the case). > However you should check the intro and extro text again, it > often exceeds 40 chars and is therefore chopped off at the > right border. Yes, I see it. And non-ASCII characters aren't rendered correctly either. They look like UTF-8 octet sequences interpreted as ISO-8859-1. And I get a bunch of these error messages: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character Error: conversion from UTF-8 to iso8859-1 went wrong: -1 (The PO files *are* valid.) -- Karl Ove Hufthammer |
