#670: http://www.jalada.eu possible GPL infringement -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Reporter: madbad | Owner: somebody Type: task | Status: new Priority: minor | Milestone: to be defined Component: To be defined | Version: 2.0.0-dev Keywords: gpl infringement jalada | -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Comment(by ocirne94): It may be useful to check out what the FlightGear guys have done about commercial redistribution; they have written a clear disclaimer, placed on their website ( http://www.flightgear.org/flightprosim.html). IMO such notice would be a bit too hidden on our main website. I'd go for writing anyway on our channels (tw, g+, fb) what the company is doing, just to point out, and then contact them. I've already had an exchange with one of them on a Wikipedia talk page: they tried to revert my addition about license infringement, but they surrendered after I wrote them a couple lines ;-) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Malcom2010). What about a peaceful tweet like "Another major milestone for the maturity of Speed Dreams: the German company jalada GmbH is providing commercial redistribution of 1.4.0 :-D" (should fit in Twitter)? -- Ticket URL: <http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/speed-dreams/ticket/670#comment:4> Speed Dreams <http://sourceforge.net/projects/speed-dreams> An Open Motor-sport Simulator featuring high-quality 3D graphics and an accurate physics engine, all targeting maximum realism as well as exciting new features, cars, tracks and AI opponents to make a more enjoyable game for the player. |
