Hi, Martin. >How to create a recent tarballs from SVN 4549 First of all, Martin, in any case ... please don't publish widely a random SVN revision of Speed Dreams ... it might suffer bad bugs and we (the Speed Dreams Team) definitely want to master what we publish :-) But I'm pretty sure this is only for testing your packaging process :-) Oh ... and rc1 is SVN r4420, so r4549 would certainly be rc2 (but hopefully we'll jump straight to final 2.0.0). So, your unofficial source packages would better be named 2.0.0-rc2-r4549 :-) >i want to know, how to create recent tarballs from the 4 available files. >is there a script available, that creates this 4 files ? > >e.q. >speed-dreams-src-base-2.0.0-rc1-r4549.tar.xz >speed-dreams-src-wip-cars-and-tracks-2.0.0-rc1-r4549.tar.xz >speed-dreams-src-hq-cars-and-tracks-2.0.0-rc1-r4549.tar.xz >speed-dreams-src-more-hq-cars-and-tracks-2.0.0-rc1-r459.tar.xz > >or is it necessary to download the sources from trunk ? > >http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/speed-dreams/wiki/LinuxInstall >- the developments for the next release are located in the trunk ; >you can checkout the current _development_ state through : >svn co https://speed-dreams.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/speed-dreams/trunk speed-dreams-trunk Everything is explained in details here: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/speed-dreams/wiki/BuildSystem#Howtobuildreleasepackages Basically, once you've checked out the trunk repository (as explained right above : svn co ..., or through the "Download GNU tarball" link at the bottom of http://speed-dreams.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/speed-dreams/trunk/, but I'd guess that svn uses some kind of compression, while the tarball method will not), simply run packaging/sources/build.sh, after looking at the heading comments of this script (explain how to use the script). And you should get what you want. Any comment on this script / wiki page are welcome (used only once for the recent RC1 source packages). >how big is the size of the downloaded directory ? >i have only a 1000Mbit internet connection. I suppose you mean 1 Mbit/s (or else you are a very lucky man ;-) The resulting local copy of our trunk is about 4 Gb, once on your disk, but I'd guess that you need to download about 2 Gb Cheers, Jean-Philippe. |
