Actually, we plan to deliver the Simu V3 physics engine in the release to go, but "only" as an experimental engine ; Simu V2 remains the "official" physics engine for the moment, even if Simu V3 seems more realistic in some domains like human car handling ... The robots will only have Simu V2 setups delivered. As for the release after, we will see if we are able to change that (make Simu V3 the official physics engine) ... it'll be a huge work to fine tune robots setups, and there may be some little issues to fix in Simu V3 (like the one your are pointing) before that (but Christos could tell more, of course). > If you don't have Salty try with another narrow track. Yes, the cars even sometimes make quite impressive jumps and loops in the air (it remembers me the preview video of Forza MotorSports 3 (XBox 360) a friend of mine showed me yesterday ... we are not that far ;-) I'm talking about Simu V3 on the "sdl-port" SVN branch, that is normally the exact copy of Torcs CVS HEAD's one (our trunk version of Simu V3 was freezed near march). Some tweaks remaining in the collision code, I guess (=> right in the TODO list ;-) Cheers, Jean-Philippe. |
