I'm running sourcejammer client on windows 2003 and have been for over two years. Suddenly it will not launch in my environment any more. I had several JREs installed so I removed them all and set it back to 1.4.1_06 but it still won't launch. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks! |

Are there methods similar to CommandCentral.checkOutFileToStream or CommandCentral.getFileToStream for Checkin and/or addFile? Thanks Suman __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com |

I've finally released the beta 2 of the 2.1.2 client. I'm sorry it's been so long since the beta 1. Hopefully we'll get to beta 3 (or the final release) much quicker. Thanks. --Rob __________________________________ Discover Yahoo! Get on-the-go sports scores, stock quotes, news and more. Check it out! http://discover.yahoo.com/mobile.html |

Use the client tool. Just "remove" the folder in question. If you want to delete all the files from the server, after the folder has been removed, go into the "Removed Items" for the parent folder and select the "removed" folder and click the "Delete" button. This will get rid of all the folder's contents permanently. Hi, Naveen, Everyone gets a "node lock error" from time to time. This is something I want to fix for the next release. But when I say from time to time, I mean maybe once a year or so. I'm surprised to hear that you're getting this error again and again after re-starting the SJ server. How many users are testing SJ for you right now? I'm curious of this is a scalability issue. I doubt that it is, though. Usually the "node lock" issue means that SJ entered a race condition with itself--meaning two users tried to access the same file or folder at the same time. Now, this only happens if the file or folder in question is not already in the in-memory cache on the server. The problem seems to occur, in fact, when SJ tries to put a particular file/folder into the cache when it is already in the process of doing so. Hopefully this is helpful information for you. Thanks. --Rob --- Nav...@xa... wrote: > > Dear Robert, > > Many thanks for your prompt reply. This message has to do with the "Relative Path" in the SJ Eclipse project properties page. Make sure that you put a trailing slash. Something like this: /location/of/my/project/ Sorry about the very narrow fields in the password dialog. They come out narrow in WIndows, but not that narrow. I'll look into that too. --Rob --- A & R Visual Development <arv...@gm...> wrote: > Robert, > > It gets farther now, but it still does error out. Hi, "A & R", I don't know if you missed the last email on this subject, but just in case--the problem was imbedded backslash characters in a path in the code. I've compiled a new sjeclipse.jar and I'd appreciate if you Linux guys could test it out for me. You can get it here: http://www.sourcejammer.org/sjeclipse.jar Just drop the new jar in your Eclipse plugins/org.sourcejammer.extension.sjeclipse_1.0.1 directory. You'll probably have to re-start Eclipse. Please tell me if this fixes it. Thanks. --Rob --- A & R Visual Development <arv...@gm...> wrote: > In the SJ field of the eclipse preferences shows it pointing to the > sourcejammer client directory, following proper format for directory > pathing under linux. > > Robert MacGrogan wrote: > __________________________________ Discover Yahoo! Wow. I feel like a real idiot. You're right! There are embedded backslashes! How M$-centric of me. I can't believe I did that. I'll fix it and post the fix hopefully sometime tonight. Thanks for helping me find the bug, guys. --Rob --- Rainer Pröbster <rp...@vr...> wrote: > Hi, > > when I open the preferences page, a dialog pops up with the error message: > Cannot find the SourceJammer configuration file. > The text field after the label "SourceJammer Client Location:" shows the > correct path to the client installation. > > Cheers, > Rainer > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? OK. Sounds like there's definitely a problem running SJ-Eclipse under Linux. Can someone tell me what you see when you go to the SJ Preference page? After you've already pointed it to your installation directory, does the directory show up in the field or is the field blank? --Rob --- Rainer Pröbster <rp...@vr...> wrote: > > I have not tested SJ Eclipse on Linux, however. I'm sure that I set the right directory (/opt/java/sourcejammer/sourcejammer/client for me). The directory and the files in it are readable for the user. I hope you did not use backslashes? ;-) Cheers, Rainer |

Hi, James. Sounds like it might be the error discussed here: http://www.mail-archive.com/sou...@li.../msg00168.html Let me know whether or not this is helpful. BTW: I believe that this problem was fixed in a more recent release of the server, but I'll have to check on that. --Rob --- James Saffery <jam...@sw...> wrote: > Hi Robert, Fellow SJ Users, > > I am having a problem with the Maintain Archive Users function with one > archive ("CCA") on one or our SJ servers. Just to be completely clear, did you set the SourceJammer Client Location in the SJ Eclipse preferences page? If so, what did you set it to? What SJ Eclipse expects is the root directory of your client installation. This should be the directory that contains the conf directory that contains the clientconf.xml file. I have not tested SJ Eclipse on Linux, however. Anyone else have problems running it under Linux? --Rob --- A & R Visual Development <arv...@gm...> wrote: > I am not sure if anyone else has been recieving this same error in > Eclipse using the SourceJammer Plugin. Could you define the correct steps for manually moving an sj archive from one machine to another regardless of the OS.? I'm sure this would help others as well as myself. David, How did you manage the archiveList file? Did you move this file along with the .sja files? If so, I'm not sure that this will work. This is a binary file, unfortunately, so you can't open and modify it. But it does not contain path-specific data, so you should be able to move it. It just contains a listing (in a hashmap) of all of your archives. The error message tells me that maybe there's a stray character or some bad xml in the .sja file that you manually modified. I was able to copy an archive from a Linux box to a Windows box, modify the .sja to point to the new path and remove a user that did not exist on the server I was importing to, and make it work. To add the archive to archiveList, I first added a new archive with the same name on the Windows server and then overwrote the .sja and archives directory with the files from my Linux box. Everything worked fine, so there's no essential problem with the xml. The main problem is that this process is more complex (and manual) than it ought to be. Take another look at that .sja file and look for anything weird. If you can't find anything, send it to me and I'll have a look. Thanks. --Rob --- David Tam <dav...@ea...> wrote: > On a red hat linux box running, I tar up the sourcejammer archives > directory. On a red hat linux box running, I tar up the sourcejammer archives directory. Then I move the tar file to my machine running XP which also has sourcejammer installed. I explode the files to a location and make sure serverconf.xml and the sja files point the new location. So after Tomcat is started up and running, I open http://localhost:8080/sourcejammer/ in the my web browser and attempt to browse the archive: javax.servlet.ServletException: Error: The archive file is imporperly formatted. Perhaps you've attempted to add plugins and did not set up the xml properly. org.sourcejammer.web.servlet.BrowseArchiveController.connectToArchive(Unknown Source) org.sourcejammer.web.servlet.BrowseArchiveController.process(Unknown Source) org.sourcejammer.web.servlet.BrowseArchiveController.doPost(Unknown Source) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:763) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:856) Note that the same exact exception occured when I tried moving the archives to a freebsd box. Out of curiousity I created a test archive on my XP machine and tried moving it to freebsd in an attempt to access the archive. It also didnt work for me. Maybe you should run some tests to see if this is possible and if not, see what the root cause is. I don't recall ever explicitly running this test myself, but I'm surprised it's causing problems. Java shouldn't care what OS it's running under. The only thing I can think that might cause this problem is the EOL characters. But Java doesn't care about these, even when the OS does. And SJ should be clever enough not to get tripped up. Could you clarify exactly how you moved your archives? I'd like to see if I can figure out exactly which file is tripping up. Also, do you have a strack trace you can give me? Thanks. --Rob --- David Tam <dav...@ea...> wrote: > I have tried moving archives across operating systems and I was > dissapointed to find out that this doesnt work. > I tried moving from sourcejammer on red hat linux to sourcejammer on > freebsd and I got a corrupt xml message. > I then attempted to move an archive from winXP to freebsd and it also > didnt work. I have tried moving archives across operating systems and I was dissapointed to find out that this doesnt work. I tried moving from sourcejammer on red hat linux to sourcejammer on freebsd and I got a corrupt xml message. I then attempted to move an archive from winXP to freebsd and it also didnt work. Is there are reason for this? Can it be done? Thanks in advance. |

It's stored in the registry on Windows machines. Not sure where Java stores it in Linux. Could you send the complete error message you're seeing. A full stack trace would be helpful.
