Ack, i forgot to mention, we really shouldnt be using a classic-SEA archive to distribute a Carbonized app... Sure expander can open it without running the sea but your gut reaction is to double click the thing, and ack! Classic! :) Wouldnt really think of the issue till you actually are using OS X i suppose.. :) -Ben -- |

Hi, I'm back from my travels until sometime in November. I'd like to get 0.6 out before - does anyone have anything I should wait for, or are we ready? On a related note, I have less and less time for CL and Scribia. For example, I haven't clanned since v198 or so! I wouldn't mind at all if someone out there would start to take over development, so Scribia doesn't fall behind the current client too much. Eternal fame is up for grabs! :-) I'm not planning on abandoning CL and Scribia, it's just that life is getting busy... -- Lark <lar...@ya...> |

I just scanned it with the version that fixes the two bugs below, and
I see this, which looks OK to me:
K'Pyn Clanned
From: 10/02/99 07:17:42am
To: 10/02/99 08:01:06pm
Total Time Clanned: 012:43:24
So maybe all three bugs were related.
Thanks for reporting these! :-)

This log is longer than 12 hours. The scanner (for some reason) logs it as beginning 12/2/98!! I've checked the file.. no where does that date show up in this file. I've also noticed that the scanner this version broke on the syntax. For example: 11/27/99 4:43:18p Kevin says, "11/27/99 6:45:30a =80Your eye grows keener." (which registers as a rank of Diggin/Marsh Hermit for me) or 11/23/00 7:22:19p Malkor says, "5/13/99 6:45:30a Gurgi says, "i have feet?"= " (which mucks the start <date/time> for the file, ie. the file date is 11/23/00, but if I scan it, I'll get the start date of 5/13/99) Thanks, K'Pyn |

Scribia 0.5.0-beta can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/scribia/ in a few minutes (when the SourceForge site updates the release list). Please see the web links included in the release archive to report bugs, suggest future features and send email to the developers. PLEASE LOOK AT THE BUG REPORTS AND FEATURE REQUESTS, AND CHECK IF YOU HAVE L= OG STRINGS FOR MISSING EVENTS. IF SO, PLEASE SUBMIT THEM. THANKS! http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=3D6424 Changed since last release: - Scanning progress bar works correctly now. - Preliminary support for MacOS X (for real, this time :-) - Fixed a bug that caused various skinning stats to artificially increase. - Track clan account withdrawals (clan deposits are already tracked.) - Tracking "discovery" experience (cemetery, "language of the trees"). - Support for new-style builder donations (track correct number of items). - Tracking potion trainer (3 potion types, experimental, report bugs please.) - Changed chaining counter to track "number of consecutive successful chainings" instead of "number of successful chainings per chain." (Requested by the Catenae, our per-chain data wasn't meaningful when chains are handed around to others, as there is no per-item data in CL yet) - Corrected tracking of untrainings with gossamer blades. - Data files contain version numbers now. This should be the last time you will have to re-scan all your logs if you'd rather not. (Note: Rescanning with a new version of Scribia is generally a *good* idea. We fix things that make the stats more accurate, and we track new additional things.) - Track current bank balance for the exile and her clan. - Corrected a bug in the tracking of beast bounties (mostly Spriggins). - Correctly track things with accented characters in their names (e.g. rod=E1n panthers). - Fixed a bug tracking trainings with Par Troon. - Fixed spelling of Alaenos. - Optimized the scanner. Elimination of variable trailing context rules allows better table compression (about factor 2) and faster matching. -- Lark <lar...@ya...> |

(They apparently pretty much train the same thing) Scribia shows Diggin as a trainer in the Trainer window, but my ranks from Diggin are showing up under the Marsh Hermit. The rank message I've been getting from Diggin has been: You feel better able to spot hidden passages. And the message I get from the Marsh Hermit seems to be: Your eye grows keener. However, all of the ranks are being listed as Marsh Hermit ranks. I don't know if Clan Lord consistently assigns these messages to one or the other, or if they change, but Scribia apparently knows both are pathfinding messages, and so assigns them both to the Marsh Hermit. Scribia looks great on OSX - http://freepages.sf.rootsweb.com/~bhines/scribia.jpg You can tell that some of the controls are not appearance controls, however - the labels and table text is not antialiased. Those need to be replaced with appearance savvy controls. The background looks native (stripey). In classic is it a little grayish. (the top half - a lot grayish) I think this is because we are using an LGADialog. All LGADialogs are supposed to be replaced with LDialogBox'es for CW7. Not sure if that would be backward compatible with CW6, though - i don't think it is. Also in that screenshot you can see scribia in the Dock, she looks a little blurry. Need a 128x128 icon! :) -Ben -- |
