Hey, I know Don was thinking of ways to implement the user interface for the classes and he settled with the drop down. Is it possible with the tabbed layout and the room we will be gaining in the interface, to have phpwsListings write the name of the classes to the web page and be a hyperlink? So if I clicked on the "Classes Tab" I would then see all the classes as text links; Real Estate Automobiles Books Boats and so forth? Mike |

Wendall, As for my situation I would have my agents sorted randomly on each page load. I used to have them in a set order until one of my agents complained that they were always on the bottom, so now they rotate randomly. I think though that some may want it according to rank or some maybe like it alphabetically. Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: Wendall Cada To: phpwsListings Dev List Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2003 11:15 AM Subject: [phpwslistings-dev] (no subject) First of all, I think that Mike's idea about the tabbed admin interface is great. Sorry I misunderstood what was being asked. You could put that in as an RFE Mike and assign it to me. In implementing the formelement breakouts, I decided to make each item appear based on its rank. This can be a problem if someone makes two items with the same rank, only the last item of that rank will appear in the layout. While I explain this in the HOWTO, I wonder if this will be confusing for users. One idea I have is to put the rank in the form element list. This would make it a quick reference for layout. Mike, did you have a particular way that you would like to see RFE # 743739 Sort View Agents done. They could be sorted any number of ways. I just fixed a bug where if you had two agents with the last name only one would appear, so I am familiar with this function. I would imagine that this would be done based on a rank system. Would that work for you? Wendall |

Either alpahbetically, randomly, or by rank. In my application I have three agency's. Currently all the agents appear alphabetically. That upsets the agents with the last name of Xavier. So I would like to see a random sort of agents, but others might like them sorted by senority for example or age. I would like to see the ability to pick a form element to be used as the subject of the email. As an example, the agent uses "A cute house" and "A nice house" as titles for two listings. Then he/she gets emailed about those listings. Now they must remember the quaint little title they gave to the listing and the actual listing. New soultion: I create a form element called "Property Listing ID" and the agents fill it in with an "in-house" numbering system. They are more likely to know this number and find it more easily. In phpwsListings admin, have the ability to put a check box next to the form element to use in the email. Of course this is just an example for real estate, but I believe this would be handy. Would this work like I want it to? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=538277&aid=743236&group_id=73598 |

I think this is a good idea. I believe Wendall misunderstood your question though. Wendall added the control panel file so that phpwsListings will show up in the tabbed control panel. However phpwsListing's own menu is not tabbed. I think this is what Mike wants to see done. Can you clarify? Don. Wendall, I noticed you took out the drop table statement for mod_listings_listelements_seq in update.php. I believe we will need this to compliment dropping mod_listings_listelements, since the _seq table is generated by pear and won't be dropped automatically. Let me know what you think. Don. |
