[Phpmylibrary-users] Cataloging Module Late-Found Bug, now included in the bugfix-1 file.

The Catalog module bug. Adalid Ortiz decided to add some bibliographic entry than importing some MARC records and found out that the Cataloging Entry form is malfunctioning. Now the cataloging entry form is working properly. It is included in the bugfix. This is a late-found bug, thus if you download the bugfix-1 4 or 5 hours ago you should download again now because the Cataloging.php file is added to the bugfix-1. The Cataloging.php should be copy-pasted to PhpMyLibrary/polerio/module/lib/ directory. Please follow the USMARC21 standard for adding bibliographic data. Sorry but the feature  for multi-admin is not yet supported. For now the 
admin can do everything, catalog, import, etc..., Other user not (admin) is 
capable only of viewing their account and reserving/borrowing of materials.

The thing that I understand from your query is that there is a user for 
cataloging only, import only , .etc. This is already compatible to 
phpmylibrary but not yet completed. to make it clear, the idea that you are 
saying is the grouping of the user, there is a general group id that can be 
assigned. for instance polerio username, which has a group id of 3, meaning 
can add, edit, delete catalog only, adalid username can be perhaps, import 
bibliographic records. etc.

The phpmylibrary now has that grouping but the it is not implemented yet, 
probably it will be included in the next version.

About your holdings data. you can now download the bugfix so that you can 
correct the error at your website. the instruction are also included in 
there. go to phpmylibrary website to get the copy of this bugfix. Thanks for 
sending me that kind of error I didn't noticed it.
About your second problem. I'm evaluating it if really doesn't working.
I will email you later regarding the adding of data.

[Phpmylibrary-users] PhpMyLibrary-2.0.0-Bugfix-1.zip Session and Holdings Bugs

There are 3 bugs which has been found. The first bug came from the Session file located at PhpMyLibrary/polerio/lib/Session.php on line 244, the script is calling for a function which is non-existent thus producing an error, this can be seen if you access the PhpMyLibrary site with different computer. This means that if one user i.e from Finland access the same website that I\'m currently browsing the program automatically detect his/her ip address, of course it will be different from my ip address because I\'m not the Finland user, knowing this, the PhpMyLibrary will redirect the Finland user to the PhpMyLibrary website while providing his/her distinct session id. The bug which was found came from the redirection, the program calls for the function redirect that does not exist, to fix it I pointed this redirect function to its existing correct function name. Now, its works fine. 

The second and third bug came from PhpMyLibrary/polerio/module/lib/fetch_brief.php and content.php. This bug has been discorvered by Adalid Ortiz, one of the PhpMyLibrary user. The problem goes like this, when you add Holdings Info to the bibliographic data, the one you added will not appear when you view the bibliographic data in detail. Why? It is because the program gets the row number of the result as its holdings id number which is not correct. It should get first the bibliographic id number then from the bibliographic data it should get the holdings id number. Now the problem has been solved. This bug has been discovered by Adalid Ortiz. Great thanks goes to Adalid Ortiz. I also didn\'t noticed this bug until an email came has been sent regarding this. Now it works very well. 

How would I apply it into my PhpMyLibrary website?

Simple, just follow the directory structure of the PhpMyLibrary, but first download the PhpMyLibrary-2.0.0-Bugfix-1.zip here [http://phpmylibrary.sourceforge.net/PhpMyLibrary-2.0.0.bugfix-1.zip ]. After that follow its directory structure. The Session.php should be copy-pasted to the directory PhpMyLibrary/polerio/lib/ and the fetch_detailed.php and content.php should be copy-pasted to PhpMyLibrary/polerio/module/lib/ directory at your PhpMyLibrary website. If the instruction is not yet clear into your mind, just unzip the bugfix-1 then copy the 3 files into your PhpMyLibrary installation while complying to the structure found in the bugfix-1 directory.

First of all I want to greet your very nice theme. It's really good. I like 
it very much.
Very nice.

Now, I  clearly understand what your problem is. You can edit, delete, add 
holdings data, the problem is no one is
able to see in the webpac itself. That's really a big problem. What I think 
is that, your bibliographic is unable to find  the id of the holdings table. 
It's process works like this. when you open a detailed view of bibliographic 
data, it has an id of the holdings table(database), the problem is the 
detailed bibliographic view is unable to find it in the holdings table.

the bibliographic table(its holdings id) should be equal to holdings(id or 
holdigs id). The problem probably is they are not equal as I see it. To 
prove it, I'm going to need to your database usename and password so that I 
can compare its actual data. if you have installed the phpmyadmin, I hope 
you could send me the uname and password so that I will be able to actually 
browse your database here. The second perhaps is, to send me the sql content 
of your database. export your database content into sql files and send it to 
me. I really want to know what are being save into your database, then after 
that I will be able to recode the program if that could be the solution. It 
works already into my windows and linux installtion and I really don't know 
yet what is the problem in your installation. It will be better if I will 
just see your actual records in the database.

Do edit fisrt your catalog entry, search the title, %%% for all the titles, 
then edit it.
Once you edit it, you are able now to add, edit, delete holdings 
information, like call-number, location, type, barcode, etc.

You should open your PhpMyLibrary/polerio/module/config/conf.php for 
assigning values in your location.
ex, from my example, CSWCD has a an id of 1

The following are taken from the line 279-273 of phpmylibrary conf.php 
file..

This is the library definition parameters.

Example you want to add, holdings info in your bibliographic record, first 
edit it,
at the top, you can add, or edit holdings info.
On the location put a value of 1 for CSWCD, 2 for LC, . . . up to [n] 
library.
Thus you can make

$library_type[3][1] = Ou Library';
$library_type[3][2] = 'OL';
$library_type[3][3] = 'some locatio, an address perhaps';
$library_type[3][4] = 'contact number;

On the Call number, you can put any characters in it compare to Location 
wherein you put only numbers from
1 to [n] depending upon the locations of your library.

Please go to phpmylibrary demo website for a chance to practice this feature 
online. Add, edit, delete holdings in there to test it.

I want to remind those libraries who had installed the software. Please browse through your conf.php at PhpMyLibrary/polerio/module/config/conf.php this file is very important because it is there you can customized everything about PhpMyLibrary configuration. Your library name, logo, etc. I made this announcement because most of the installation I\'ve visited uses all the default settings of the software, you can freely customize it if you want at your conf.php. 

To HTML designers, you can go trough your PhpMyLibrary themes directory. First of all credits goes to Nuke system like postnuke and phnuke. Theme concepts came from them.

Browse through your themes directory at PhpMyLibrary/themes/ . . . 

From there you can freely create or customize themes to suit in to your library website design. There\'s a lot of sample templates that can be used in there. Try it, its free. You can also get or search other themes at www.nukethemes.de, www.vipixel.com, etc..

In addition, the PhpMyLibrary default image can also be changed, just go through themes directory. The default PhpMyLibrary theme is PostNukeBlue, go through that directory and change anything you want if you like. But don\'t forget your conf.php at PhpMyLibrary/polerio/module/config/conf.php, library hours, names, logos, etc. can be customized in there.

P.S. This software runs atop PostNuke system. You can just copy-paste your unzipped PhpMyLibrary files to postnuke/modules directory, then copy some blocks, and import the phpmylibrary.sql and you\'re done!



Reminders!!

Please do not use php4.0.6, you will not be able to login with this version. Use PHP Version 4.2.2 for Windows or PHP Version 4.1.2 for Linux instead. This is a tested version which I already used. 

Visit the http://phpmylibrary.sourceforge.net/phpinfo.php for my phpmylibrary php install configuration. To other Libraries which uses Php4.0.6 please upgrade. I will do my best to solve this problem, for the mean time use php version greater than 4.0.6

phpmylibrary esta ya funcionando sin problemas en http://consag.tij.uia.mx/phpmylibrary/index.php Ahora debo planear la importación de mi base de datos en ISIS. He notado que no es posible acceder al la pagina principal (index.php) USANDO NETSCAPE, en la escuela donde trabajo todos los clientes que accesan a la Biblioteca (aprox. 300 PCs) utilizan NETSCAPE asi que si es un BUG de \"phpmylibrary\" me gustaria que me dijeran como corregirlo o que añadieran soporte para NETSCAPE.

Gracias al Sr. Polerio, quien me proporciono el URL de su configuración de PHP pude lograr que \"phpMylibrary\" acceda a la página en donde se hace el login. Ahora mi problema es que no puedo ingresar con ningun nombre de usuario que tengo registrado en \"phpMylibrary\". Esta es mi primera vez trabajando con MySQL y no se en que orden o que procedimiento seguir para dar accesos y que tipos de derechos asignar a mis usuarios. Agradeceria si alguien me diera una pista a sequir.

the software can be download at phpmylibrary website or at 
http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpmylibrary

it runs on windows system, you will need apache, mysql, php for windows.

It can also run on linux, with apache, myslq and php for linux

in addition you will need phpmyadmin for easy administration of your 
database.

what's happening in your website. php version you used, the configuration,

I still don't why the your installation is not working properly. It also 
happens to other user, they can't log also. Can you give me the software 
versions you installed, the php version, mysql, and apache. I don't have an 
idea yet why this kind of error is happening. The program works fine on the 
phpmylibary demo, i  think there's a difference on the installation of your 
system, it could be on the php.

It's maybe at your spanish language that you insert. I will also try to

Edite mi archivo "php.ini para que permitiera el uso de sesiones. Parece=20
que este era mi problema anterior. Ahora mi problema es que en el=20
archivo headers.php busca un directorio "javascript/" y unos archivos=20
"showimages.php", "openwindow.php", etc. y se interrumpe la ejecucion=20
del prpgrama.

Cualquier ayuda sera bien recibida.
