In my ISIS databases I store info about my holdings (Access numbers). How can I add that info to the holdings table without do it manually?

Mr. Polerio, maybe the multi-admin support can be more sophisticated. Ex. The Circulation staf can add borrow users but not admin, cataloging, circulation. It wil allow them to manage his own users and the \"superadmin\" can do anything.

Mr. Polerio, testing the multi-admin feature, create two user for cataloging and access OK but when create user for circulation staf they login and the left menu don\'t display. Please test at http://consag.tij.uia.mx/loyola/index.php  login as admin/admin

The version is 2.0..1 with the bugfix patch installed.

Multi-admin support. - You can now designate tasks to your normal user 
because this feature allows you to select what roles can be assigned to your 
users. This can be done by editing the user info. This concept was 
submitted/came from Mr.Adalid Ortiz who had found out that there's a great 
need in multi-admin support for large libraries.


Library User/Staff Picture Upload - Suggested by Prof. Ma. Divina Pascua 
Cruz. There's also a great need for user account to have its picture 
included. This will allow the librarian to confirm his/her identity by just 
comparing his/her saved picture from the computer.

Database Structure Changed - This was just an idea that came into my mind. 
This will allow you to transfer/backup data anytime you want because the 
fields was saved not-as an auto_incremented data. The idea basically is to 
allow you to copy or export your data onto another computer without errors. 
This is advantageous if PhpMyLibrary has released new version. You will only 
export your existing data to the PhpMyLibrar new released version.

It is also advantageous to you because your data is flexible, you can use it 
for other purpose. Your encoding will not be wasted because you can use it 
in other database as well. Basically, it's primary purpose is to make you 
flexible when new version of the PhpMyLibrary is released.

polGenSQL - The code has been edited to comply with the PhpMyLibrary 
database restructuring. Now you can simply type polGenSQL somemarc.txt to 
generate your MARC in SQL format compatible to PhpMyLibrary. The 
polGenSQL.py is a python application which can be used in Linux system and 
Windows system thus again making you flexible. I have compiled a windows 
executable polGenSQLexe which can be found at PhpMyLibrary/polerio/python/ 
directory. This will allow you to simply type polGenSQL somemarc.txt to 
generate your PhpMyLibrary SQL from your MARC file.

On the other hand if you are using Linux system, you can simply type $ 
python polGenSQL somemarc.txt to generate your PhpMyLibrary compatible SQL 
data obtained from your MARC file.

Content Management - Now you can speak for your library site. With this, you 
can now post announcements, messages etc. into your library website. This 
simply allows you to put content into your website. This is vey flexible, 
you should only have to get the idea, after that you can use it flexibly.

Inform me right away if you will encounter some bugs or problems. Also if 
you have suggestion or a feature request, be free to mail it all to me so 
that we can better improve this software.

Hello,

I've used python because I can make a compiled version of it. This can be 
valuable both on linux and windows. On linux, there always a built-in python 
in there if you are using redhat linux. you only have to execute a command 
from shell like this $ python polGenSQL.py somemarc.txt

Then this will create a file phpmylibrary.sql which can be exported into 
your database which has phpmylibrary installed.

On the other hand if a windows user doesn't have python installed. They can 
execute the file polGenSQL.exe, I compiled it using py2exe. Windows user 
will only make a command like this polGenSQL somemarc.txt and it will be 
converted  to phpmylibrary.sql

About reservation module. Please download the version 2.0.1 as this have a 
sample data with accession numbers, and reservation demo.

I'm very to proud announce that I'm going to release now the new version 
PhpMyLibrary-2.0.1.zip I fixed a lot of bugs from version 2.0.0 With this 
version, we don't know, there's always bugs. It's a part of it. The version 
2.0.1 will become available for download today. I'm now uploading it to 
sourceforge. Thanks a lot Mr. Adalid Ortiz, all the major bugs were fixed. 
Now the multi-admin as you suggested was included in this version.

The user info. now have a field for picture. You can now upload your 
students picture at your library site. The database manipulation has been 
modified. I made all the primary field, non-auto_increment.

Now you can just transfer/backup your database anytime you like. And it is 
also advantageous in the future release of the phpmylibrary because you will 
only export your data from your existing phpmylibrary version to new 
version. This will make both of us and other PhpMyLibrary user flexible.

The user transaction pulldown menu is the same that the circulation staff menu. It\'s that correct? What the \"action\" link option \"Cancel\" on the My account mean? The user can self return the material that have on loan?

I read the news on the phpmylibrary site. You write that the mutil-admin and the user picture features has already done. Could you share with me?

I need the multi-admin feature because many faculty students help us maintaining our online catalog and it\'s a security risk share with them the admin account.

Please open your conf.php at PhpMyLibrary/polerio/module/config/conf.php
then find the theme parameter. Your error occured because you are currently 
using the a theme which is compatible to phpnuke. To use that theme you must 
indicate in the conf.php the type of nuke theme system your using. Detailed 
instructions can be found inside the conf.php. The most important thing to 
do is to replace your PostNuke value to PhpNuke.

Find it inside that file. It tackles about theme system activation.

http://phpmylibrary.sourceforge.net. Perhaps you used the old version of the 
php.

phpmylibrary website. If this error always occur please send me the info 
about the software you used. the operating system, apache version, mysql, 
php etc.

Testing using two PCs with user admin add new user but when try to login=20
with the new user acount can't acces. Test with only one login as a=20
admin give the same result.

hello,

for the mean time, try using your login in different computers. What I mean 
all the encoders or the catalogers will use the username and password which 
is perhaps, admin, admin.

Test this. I didn't test it yet,  but it should work because this is the 
primary purpose of internet. collaborative. Tell your staff to login using 
admin, admin. all the three of them, and tell me if such
kind will not work.

please use the bugfix now. replace your existing files that contains an 
error, for more info visit the phpmylibrary website.

bugfix, the one i edited was the content.php, you need not have to 
copy-paste all the files, just the content.php

copy-paste it at your PhpMylibrary/polerio/module/lib/ directory.

Be sure that the bibliographic data you were adding have at least  title, 
and author because because this is the searchable field needed by the 
phpmylibrary. addtional searchable fields are , notes, subjects and 
publisher. I think its, 100(author), 245(title), 260(publisher), 500(notes), 
630(subjects) and 650(subjects) tag numbers.


Just some suggestion. What if you try linux system. I think it's a bit more 
fast and more secure than Windows. I really find it hard to wait for the 
results. It's good it your website is access from within your network. But 
if other user would be searching far from your country like Philippines. 
It's a bit slow. Just a suggestion if you would like. I could offer some 
assistance if you would want to use linux system, like red hat linux 7.2


The Cataloging bugfix has been done. Please re-download the bugfix at 
phpmylibrary website. The bugfixfix now includes the recoded catalog.php 
file.

I suggest, try to re-initialize your database. Empty all the content of the 
tables  except the _users, _holdings, _session_info. All the remaining empty 
it so that you could start a fresh data.
