Hi All: First, sorry about the subscribe post... next time, I'll RTFM... :-) I tested viewing tickets under Netscape 4.78, IE 5.5 and Mozilla 0.92. Mozilla and IE worked fine, and as we all have discovered, Netscape doesn't. :-) "So you could say the greatest achievement of the Internet is that it turns nuclear war into nothing more than a series of routing errors." -- Mark Pesce |

Unfortunately, no. If you look at <phphelpdesk home>/includes/cookie.inc.php, you will see how the cookie is set. In order for everything to work correctly, the <phphelpdesk home>/includes/logout.inc.php also needs to reflect what the cookie file does. The problem is that we've tried to include the login domain and stuff so that IE can work. Once we do that, Netscape and everything else stops working. I haven't had time to sit and correct the problem. Anyone is welcome to try to fix this problem. I've noticed this problem too. It happens whenever there's a space in the HTTP line; for instance, with the default "Human Resources" company defined. How do I set it to convert that to %20 or something? greetings i try to test phphelpdesk on my local server (sambar web server v5, php v4, mysql v3.32) i created the database and the tables and edited the files in /config folder. no to the things that don't work for me: in general.conf.php i set the variables as follows (other settings do not result in the coorect url): $g_base_url = "http://www.ossi.net/werni/jusinfo/phphelpdesk"; $g_domain = "www.ossi.net"; $g_base_path = "/"; after pointing my browser to http://www.ossi.net/werni/jusinfo/phphelpdesk/index.php i see the start page (blue at top and 4 links, no php/mysql warnings) when i click on the first link (http://www.ossi.net/werni/jusinfo/phphelpdesk/index.php?login=goto) i get the same page! and so does any of those 4 links bring me to the start page... what am i doing wrong??? any ideas or suggestions would be welcome! thanks a lot ossi |

Ok, we have made some changes to the cookie code which seems to fix a lot of these problems (you are not the only one having this happen). I just spoke to Joe about releasing a new version which you can try (should fix the cookie issue)... He's checking out some new features I added this week and will release the new version once he is satified that everything is ok. Hi John; In index.php, there is a reference to include the script config/whattodo_items.conf.php on line 42 , which should be there. On line 44, the include statement calls the script "scripts/$whattodo.scp.php". The $ means a variable is being referenced, in this case $whattodo ... This variable contains the first part of the script name (eg: chpw which would call the script scripts/chpw.scp.php). I think this answers your question, but are you receiving error messages about scripts not being found? there is a reference to whattodo.scp.php in index.php. however this file appears to be missing.. location in index.php is stated as /scripts however this file is missing. this appers to be causing some issues reading cases and well doing just about any thing after I log in. and yes I am using the latest version of phphelpdesk. Steven; To use a different database name, you need to edit phphelpdesk.mysql and change the first 3 lines, replace phphelpdesk with whatever database name you want. Then edit config/db.conf.php and change $db_db from phphelpdesk to your database name. Once done, create the database by typing mysql < phphelpdesk.mysql and it should work fine. Hope that helps; Andrew Steven Grant wrote: > Hello, > > I have been using and loving your product for a while. Hello, I have been using and loving your product for a while. What I am trying to figure out is how to change the name of the database that it creates/uses. I tried to simply change the phphelpdesk.mysql to what I wanted (for some reason I thought this should work..) and it did not seem to do any thing. It still tries to install to the original name. Anyone have an idea of how to fix or change this? Steven Grant Systems Administrator TechOnLine, Inc. sg...@te... |

Joe, thanks for getting back to me so soon. I was thinking of changing the date: 1) the history of the job 2) the report-date-selection dialogs Being from Australia, we use a DD-MM-YYYY format, and the users are getting a bit confused about the switch around between DD-MM and MM-DD I'll put in a formal request on your sourceforge page and take a look and see if i can help out a little. I managed to change it on the 'printable report' page, shouldn't be a problem to churn through the code to find all the other bits where date/time is displayed thanks, Ben At 10:02 PM 6/07/2001 +0000, you said: >Which pages in particular are you talking about? Which pages in particular are you talking about? The date is displayed in many areas. It would be nice to make a nice configuration variable in the general.conf.php file to choose how to display the date, but this doesn't exist as of yet. For the most part, all the displayed scripts are in the scripts/ directory. The date is stored mostely in MySQL database using a DATETIME variable type. you should be able to just display it the way that you want it. Hmm, this hasn't come up before. I think we could easily add a config setting to select the date format. If you want, you could go to PHP Helpdesk on Sourceforge.net and add this as a feature request, and we'll get around to it eventually! Apologies for my post earlier this week, it seems that Microsoft Outlook Web access is not the best piece of software out there.... Here is my email: Hi everyone, I was wondering if it was easily possible to change the date in PHPhelpdesk from YYYY-MM-DD to DD-MM-YYYY? I'm assuming this is more related with how the actual date is being shown rather how it is stored in the database. Exactly what files would I need to modify? thanks in advance, Ben Leung |

Some browsers don't print the textboxes (Konqueror was one of them). Therefore, I made a show printable version that acts more like a receipt than the modify version. In the printable version, there are line item details of who worked on the ticket and what items were purchased for the ticket as well. -----Original Message----- From: php...@li... What is the function of "Show a Printable Version" button? Why you need to show a printable version? If it is an option to admin to print the ticket but what for? Just a little bit curious. :-) TQ zamir _______________________________________________ Phphelpdesk-help mailing list Php...@li... http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/phphelpdesk-help |

Andrew, Glenn, et al: In our pre-implementation testing of PHP Helpdesk, we ran into the same cookie problem, solved by Andrew's code (Thank You, Andrew!). However, the cookies were persisting if one failed to use the "logout" URL, _and_ close their browser. For example, if one logs in, cruises around the app. for a bit, logs out, then tries to log in under a different UID, the original cookie still exists. Our webmaster/PHP guru modified logout.inc.php (which I've included at the bottom) to fix that problem. > From: Andrew Walker <AJW...@ho...> > To: Glenn Jenkins <gle...@em...> > CC: "'php...@li...'" <snip> > I've struggled with the same issue.
