Martin, Yes I have been looking for a way to do this as well and I found it in conjunction with the email posted here called: Automatic email send with ticket creation. There was a chunk of code posted there to add to the vj_addevent.scp.php script. Once I added that I changed the $mailto variable to "$lstAssignedto" - this will send it to the new assignee. This variable looks like number one - 1stAssignedto - but after trying this a couple of times trying to find the correct variable I noticed that it is actually a lower-case letter l. I changed it to l and it worked. Hope this helps. -Paul Email Archive: phphelpdesk-help (read-only) From: Matt Grab <matt@ma...> Re: notifying assignee by email when assigning a request 2002-08-19 19:47 If you search the archives, you will see some other questions to the same effect. PHPhelpDesk actually has this built in to some degree. When someone submits a ticket, they have the option to check 'email this ticket'. The option defaults to 'no'. I just changed the option to default to 'yes'. It worked pretty well for me. Matt On Monday 19 August 2002 10:51 am, mmoriarty wrote: > mmoriarty wrote: > > Hi there > > Has anyone attempted this? Mike, Thanks for your posting and code. I added it to the script you mentioned and was able to get the email portion working. I copied the code into the script so that when I assign a ticket to another user an email will be sent to that user. I saw a couple of postings on that question as well. To get that to work I simply added your code to the vj_addevent.scp.php script and then changed the $mailto variable to "$lstAssignedto" - this will send it to the new assignee. This variable looks like number one - 1stAssignedto - but after trying this a couple of times trying to find the correct variable I noticed that it is actually a lower-case letter l. I changed it to l and it worked. Thanks for your help. -Paul From: Mike Maki <mmaki@ad...> Re: Automatic email send with ticket creation 2002-06-28 15:56 Yes Paul there is. This is a simple edit, but it works. Edit addjob.scp.php. Find $mailto = "$txtUserEmail"; Change it to $mailto = "$txtUserEmail, paul.greidanus@ua..."; You can add as many recipients as you like separated by commas. I have even modified my scripts so an email is sent to the user when ever an event is added, that way they are notified whenever I update their ticket. If you want that ability add the following to vj_addevent.scp.php after the last occurrence of $mysqlresult = query($query); (It's near the bottom). Watch for wrapped text below. Each line begins with $mailbody except for the last two lines. They begin with "mail" and "print". To be safe, make backup copies of these files before you modify them. $mailto = "$t_useremail"; $mailsubject = "$g_title - Ticket #$t_id has been updated!"; $mailbody = "$t_userfirstname,\n\n"; $mailbody .= "Your Help Desk request has been updated. Below is a copy of the updated information.\n\n"; $mailbody .= "Thanks,\n\n"; $mailbody .= "Mike\n"; $mailbody .= "x2323\n\n"; $mailbody .= "ORIGINAL REQUEST\n------------------------------------------------------------------- -----\n"; $mailbody .= "Division: $lstDepartment\n"; $mailbody .= "Category: $lstCategory\n"; $mailbody .= "Summary: $txtSummary\n"; $mailbody .= "Detail: $txtDetail\n"; $mailbody .= "Location: $txtLocation\n"; $mailbody .= "\n"; $mailbody .= "UPDATE\n"; $mailbody .= "------------------------------------------------------------------------\n" ; $mailbody .= "$txtDescription\n\n Time: $txtDuration hour(s)\n"; $mailbody .= "------------------------------------------------------------------------\n" ; $mailheader = "From: mike_maki@np..."; $mailbody = stripslashes($mailbody); mail($mailto, $mailsubject, $mailbody, $mailheader); print "<center>A receipt was sent to $t_userfirstname $t_userlastname<BR></center>\n"; I've only been using phpHelpDesk for a few weeks and have found it to be an excellent program. Thank you Joseph Hoot and the other developers for a great work! This app is not compliant with respect to global variables. To operate properly, you will need to turn on the "register_globals" in our systems' php.ini configuration file. To check if this is your problem, create a php file and add the following line: <? phpinfo() ?> Then view it via a browser. In the "Configuration - PHP Core" section it will have a line like so: register_globals Off Off If it says off/off then you do not have them on. This is your problem. I hope this helps... -k On Wed, 4 Dec 2002, R. Hello Ronny, it seems like an Apache configuration problem... Have you set up the authentication correctly? Please look at the PHP-HelpDesk docs for more info on this issue. There you'll find some useful examples on how to fix your problem. If not, don't hesitate to contact us (me and/or the list). Best regards, Martin -- Martin Mielke - mar...@th... Dear all, PHP-HelpDesk has been working fine for some months now, but now suddenly it's creating what I believe are parasite tables... Please, look at the following output for 'show tables': --- +-----------------------+ | Tables_in_solicitudes | +-----------------------+ | | | 09 | | 1 | | 25 | | 36 | | 38 | | 42 | | 51 | | 53 | | 69 | | 7 | | 74 | | 78 | | 8 | | 85 | | 90 | | binary_data | | category | | department | | events | | lunes | | parts | | prueba | | security | | ticket | | ticketparts | | tmpeid | | tmpviewtickets | | userdepartments | +-----------------------+ 29 rows in set (0.00 sec) --- The parasite tables are those begining with a number. These tables also produce an error, for example: --- mysql> desc 74 ; ERROR 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '74' at line 1 --- It doesn't matter if I (double)quote the table name... I still get the same error. Furthermore, these tables do have the following associated files: --- ls -l 74.* -rw-rw---- 1 mysql daemon 0 Dec 2 10:48 74.MYD -rw-rw---- 1 mysql daemon 1024 Dec 2 10:48 74.MYI -rw-rw---- 1 mysql daemon 8550 Dec 2 10:48 74.frm --- So, my questions: * where do these tables/files come from? * how can I get rid of them? Thank you very much in advance! Best regards, Martin -- Martin Mielke - mar...@th... THALES Information Systems - http://www.thales-is.com/ [ echo "\$0&\$0">_;chmod +x _;./_ ] |

Hey, I just downloaded your script and was testing it out and got a error. I am not sure why or what happened but the error is a cookie related error. are you saying that the index.php login page is reloading when you attempt to login? if so, most likely you have register globals turned off in your php.ini file. -k On Thu, 10 Oct 2002, Mike wrote: > New to PHP & MYSQL and HELP needed > > I have ""battled"" to get the config going and eventualy succeeded in seeing > the index.php in the browser.. > > Help me out here.. > > in the browser address, i type http://127.0.0.1/index.php and bingo appears > the helpdesk page..if I click on login...nothing happens, the same with IT > and HR and sales..apache and mysql is runnning , and I created a user > phphdadmin with phphdpasswd and admin admin like in the install > instructions.. > hover over login show http://localhost//index.php?login=goto not sure where > to fix this one > > I think this is a super super product...and will be very glad if I can get > it working > > Tnx > > Mike > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek > Welcome to geek heaven. > http://thinkgeek.com/sf > _______________________________________________ > Phphelpdesk-help mailing list > Php...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/phphelpdesk-help > |

I had a similar problem when I moved my PHPhelpdesk to a new server. I copied the entire phphelpdesk data and mysql data to the new server. I copied my apache config and my MySQL config to the new server. When I went to log in, it just refreshed the page back to the login. I never was able to get it working on that server. I ended up reinstalling PHP and Apache on a different server and copying all data to it. As far as I could tell, it seems to be a PHP or Apache problem. I've installed and am trying to get phphelpdesk working and am using my personal site as a test installation. You can see it at http://www.mattdpeterson.com/phphelpdesk/ I'm getting the following errors when I try to login Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /home/mattdpet/public_html/phphelpdesk/includes/cookie.inc.php on line 8 Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /home/mattdpet/public_html/phphelpdesk/includes/cookie.inc.php on line 9 Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /home/mattdpet/public_html/phphelpdesk/includes/cookie.inc.php on line 10 Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /home/mattdpet/public_html/phphelpdesk/includes/cookie.inc.php on line 11 Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /home/mattdpet/public_html/phphelpdesk/includes/cookie.inc.php on line 12 The install process went a little wierd and I wasn't able to use the install script provided. I manually created the database in phpMyAdmin and used the phphelpdesk.mysql to create the tables. The app is able to conenct to the DB. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I think this is a great help desk application and would love to be able to use it for the company I am working to start now. Thanks Matt Peterson |
