I believe it's a table within a table. i have not verified this... Look for a table tag with a "bgcolor" attribute set, then an inside table. That's most likely your culprit. -k On Fri, 31 Jan 2003, Spencer and Alice wrote: > Okay I am going through my install of PHP Helpdesk and redoing some of > the formatting. Okay I am going through my install of PHP Helpdesk and redoing some of the formatting. Taking out font tags and hard coded colors and switching to CSS. I keep seeing this border showing up around the tables. I have gone out and killed all tags that include a border that I can find. It comes up now and again in the smaller forms such as view jobs and the initial add jobs form. Can someone point me to something I am missing. spencer parker |

Kevin, Thanks, I did that and it has helped somewhat. Now I can bring up the login screen ok and login to the system. After I log in as admin, admin, it brings me to the View all jobs page. This page shows a list of errors: Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in c: \apache\htdocs\phphelpdesk\includes\cookie.inc.php on line 8 Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in c: \apache\htdocs\phphelpdesk\includes\cookie.inc.php on line 9 Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in c: \apache\htdocs\phphelpdesk\includes\cookie.inc.php on line 10 Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in c: \apache\htdocs\phphelpdesk\includes\cookie.inc.php on line 11 Warning: setcookie() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in c: \apache\htdocs\phphelpdesk\includes\cookie.inc.php on line 12 at the top of the page, with the sample list of jobs underrneath. Unfortunitely every link I click on that page brings me straight back to the index page. For example, if I click on a job, or the add job link I am brought straight back to the index.php page. From the index page, if I click on ay of the department links, I get the same set of errors at the top of the page, with the add job form underneath. If I fill out the form and submit, it brings me bakt to the index page again. IF I log in and view the jobs, there is no sign of the job I submitted. Any ideas? Hi there, I have just Downloaded and installed PHP helpdesk as per instructions, but I am getting several errors when I try and run it. I am running Apache 1.3.27 and PHP 4.3.0 on and MySQL Windows 2000 Workstation. I have edited the general.conf.php file and set up the $g_base_url, $g_domain and $g_base_path variables. I have also edited the db.conf.php file and set it up appropriately and I have run teh database script to create the tables. The first (minor) problem I have is that when I go to the URL http://nci-staff04/phphelpdesk, I just get a directory listing. I need to click on the file index.php to get the index page. A small problem really. Perhaps that is what is supposed to happen. The main problems I have are that I get the following three errors in my browser when I load the index page: Notice: Undefined variable: partfound in c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\phphelpdesk\languages\english.lang.php on line 256 Notice: Undefined variable: p_id in c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\phphelpdesk\languages\english.lang.php on line 258 Notice: Undefined variable: whattodo in c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\phphelpdesk\config\header.conf.php on line 8 Also, no matter which link I click, I am always brought back to the index page, with the same error messages. I cannot login, when clicling on the login link as it just keeps presenting the index page. I know its connecting to the databesa ok, because if I change the database userid in the db.conf.php file, I get a different error. Does this program work on Windows does anyone know? I think it should as its just PHP and PHP works fine on Windows AFAIK. If it does not work on Windows for some reason, could anyone recommend a simple helpdesk application which would? Any help would be much appreciated! OKay, my knowledge of PHP is really lacking and that might be why it isn't working for me....what I really want to do is enforce them to go directly to the login screen instead of listing the departments or companies. How can I get it to do this for me. I have looked and can't figure it out...thanks... spencer parker |

Okay, I am having some major problems with this. Every time I go to delete it. It says it has been deleted, but it does not disappear from the pop-down list. I then actually look at the data within the table and it isn't there. Where is it getting its info from. I have tried this in four different browsers so I am pretty sure it is not a browser problem. I then restart my browsers and the last thing that was deleted is now gone. Can I find someone who might know what the issue could be??? spencer parker |

I am a newbie to both Linux, PHP and MySQL. I have installed Linux Redhat 8.0 with PHP and MySQL. I have downloaded PHPhelpdesk file and run the default setup as described. But when I launched the helpdesk through the web browser, errors encountered. Is there any installation procedure you can send to me and help me to get the phphelpdesk running a bit sooner, thank you. p.s. I have checked MySQL and Apache is running. My copy already does this. It's very annoying. I believe it's tunable with the cookie timeout variable. find out where that is set and you may have your control. -k On Tue, 14 Jan 2003, Mark Esslinger wrote: > Is there a way I can change my PHP Helpdesk to auto-logout users that don't > logout after a session. > > This seems like it might be a security risk left open. > > Another new guy... > > Thanks, > Mark > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.NET email is sponsored by: FREE SSL Guide from Thawte > are you planning your Web Server Security? Is there a way I can change my PHP Helpdesk to auto-logout users that don't logout after a session. This seems like it might be a security risk left open. Another new guy... Thanks, Mark |

It sounds like a cookie issue. Check inside includes/cookie.inc.php... I made a change for myself a while back. I don't recall what it did for me. Here is my cookie.inc.php piece that I changed. -- // Modified by Andrew Walker (ajw...@ho...) // $time = mktime()+$g_cookietimeout; // $date = date("l, d-M-y H:i:s", ($time)); //$date = $time; $date = time()+$g_cookietimeout; -k |

Hi, I can log in to phpHelpDesk. I can log in (made sure that Register_Globals was set to ON ON). As soon as I do so, any link I click logs me out and brings me back to the login page again. I'm running the latest version of phphelpdesk, winnt 4, apache, mysql 3.23.52-nt, php4. I get a login box and enter the admin user/pass and hit enter but I just get a blank screen at that point. The status bar at the bottom indicates progress but the page never loads. Any help appreciated. Bill P.S. If you are having a problem not getting the login box, checkout your php.ini for register_globals and turn it from off to on. Cheers. |
