In the aligner, one can mark a row as "accepted" (green) or as "needs review" (red). However, I have found that rows marked like this are not protected against the up/down arrows or against the merge/split buttons. Furthermore, if a green segment is merged with another, the green is not removed.
I suggest that green rows be protected against merging/splitting/moving of cells (and I think red rows should also be protected, but I'm not sure). The up/down/merge/split buttons should not be greyed out on green/red rows, but when a user tries to move/merge/split a cell that will impact a green row, there would be a warning, and if the user indicates that he wants to continue, the green must be cleared from that row.
"Protecting" is a lot of work. For the time being I will simply clear the status of modified cells.
Do I need to submit a separate RFE for "clear red/green status when cells are edited/moved"?
No, that's not necessary.
I'm not sure that has been implemented. Samuel, could you check ?
I don't use the aligner often enough, but I suspect Aaron did not implement my original request. He said that protecting is a lot of work, but IMO protecting is rather important in an aligner.
