Not everything has been modified to deal with the new set_paths(). In particular there are hard coded paths in the lib/* files. I got beta 17 working with beta 3 of the driver. It does not work when you use "sudo service ctserver start" [mdarnell@voicemail src]$ sudo service ctserver start Starting ctserver: insmod: a module named vpb already exists [ OK ] When you simply do ./ctserver from the beta 17 folder it answers = straight away. Not sure what happened to our script, but we are back on for 11AM = tomorrow. -Matt |

Kev, No need to come in if we can't get the system to answer with the beta 17 = and new driver. Dean is going to come in early and try to figure it out. I'll call you = if we figure it out. Vince, Dean I will try to do put the new drivers on the .92 box to see if it is = a new card vs old card issue. -Matt |

There is a new driver and CTserver. Dean, can you install it on .91? -Matt -----Original Message----- From: Ben Kramer [mailto:be...@vo...] Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2003 8:23 PM To: Undisclosed-Recipient: Subject: new release! hi Guys, there is a new driver and ctserver on the web site. ctserver now plays nicely with the OpenLine/Log4 cards (thanks Matt for pointing that one out). Watchdog is now working properly, and requires a flag from the command line to turn on (only for OpenSwitch12 cards). Driver is now happy with older OpenSwitch12 cards. A bug left over from testing has been removed. Cheers, Ben. --=20 Ben Kramer <be...@vo...> |

Kevin, You can download the main.pl and you can see where you can link to your = application. I will have to do it from the auto attendant as well. -Matt |

I have .92 reinstalled with the 1GB flash card. The /home and /usr/src directories are using the old hard drive right now for performance reasons. The response times, as expected is much slower than the old drive, but still tolerable. -Vince |

Kevin, Check out this website. http://www.ostel.com These guys sell voice cards. How hard would it be to put together a web site liek that. That one looks pretty sucky to me. It wouldn't have to look like www.comtelhi.com, I know that would be a lot og work. Just something we can put up to to showcase our product. -Matt |

I believe I have a possible solution (conceptually anyway, no code yet) for the blocking slow email generation problem. The idea is to have the vmta put the essential parts of the email, except for the attachment into a queue. Another process is responsible for grabbing the info from the queue and actually doing the attachment and mail. A long message will therefore just slow down processing the queue and not block the vmta. I'm still trying to work out the best way to implement this in the most bulletproof way. With time a concern, this might have to wait until version 1.1. -dean |

Vince, Look at this hardware, the case specs are here http://www.gtweb.net/j2150.html the motherboard http://intel.com/design/motherbd/rg2/index.htm?iid=ipp_dlc_deskmb%2Bp4pmb_d845gerg2&, page 92 of ftp://download.intel.com/design/motherbd/rg2/C1458401.pdf indicated it will boot withour KVM attached to the PC Here are all the part we would need expect the Flash Card, adapter and Voiceteronix card Gang, That puts us at about $1,500 for a four port chassis not too bad. This chassis had 2 PCI slots so we could go up to 12 ports with this one, maybe add more RAM. -Matt |

eeprom output-device=/dev/ttya eeprom input-device=/dev/ttya This will redirect console to COM1. Change "ttya" to "ttyb" for COM2. Thing is you'll have to have a video card and keyboard when you first do this, afterwards you can remove it...or if your system's already in the network, you can telnet to it and perform the above. ************* I guess they could hook up KVM if the box doesn't come up to the prompt. Vince, do you know how to do this? -Matt |

I know everything we are using has the 'beta' in it, but I am dissapointed we can't get this new driver/ctserver to even answer the phone. I hope it is not something on our end. Can we be sure of that? I want to pound them to find them the answer if it is on their side. -Matt |
