Vince, Can debian operate with tmp and swap being in RAM? If we had 512MB of RAM, 128 for the OS and 384 for tmp and swap would = that be feasible? Do you have a feel at how much RAM we'll need for the server? -Matt |

Just got off the phone with Ben, He is going to fix the bug with absulte paths and greetings He has fixed the issue with DTMF tones attached on the end of recordings He is noticing general issues with DTMF processing and is looking at it He can not reproduce the issue with dial 0 reset port should reset the port from any state. Another beta should be out tonight or tomorrow. -Matt |

Probably want a lib directory as well ... CVS can be icky (yes, that's a technical term learned during my all too many years of schooling) about things like removing directories from the repository. We ought to sit down and draw out our directory structure and meaning of each directory. -dean |

Generate your ssh-key with: ssh-keygen -t dsa Go to http://sourceforge.net/account/ and upload your public key. The direct link (http://sourceforge.net/account/editsshkeys.php) might work as well. The default file should be id_dsa.pub. Make sure you upload the public key. The contents should start with 'ssh-dss'. After about 6 hours, ssh to shell.sf.net to see if your key works. Now, on the system where you generated the key, check out the [spartan] repository: CVS_RSH=ssh CVSROOT=:ext:$us...@cv...:/cvsroot/linuxvm cvs co linuxvm -Vince |

I setup the CVS repository stub by importing the LGPL. Set $user to your SF login and (for bash users) run: export CVS_RSH=ssh export CVSROOT=:ext:$us...@cv...:/cvsroot/linuxvm cvs co linuxvm You will need to upload your SSH keys to SF and wait a few hours for the keys to propagate. This is what I propose: linuxvm/ bin/ doc/ src/ menu/ sync/ vmta/ ... So, Matt's suggestions would fall under src. -Vince |

It says CVS is running a backup, my import command is just hanging. I'll keep trying. I see eight trees being setup: 1.Voicemail main routine (engine) 2.User menu (after they login into their mailbox - to expand to letting them hear their email) 3.VMTA (transfers messages from spool to where they belong, also turns on and off MWI, paging) 4.Sync module (keeps voicemails in sync between email store and voicemail store) 5.Prompts 6.Fax server engine (future, most likely hylafax - I have a client on it now) 7.Fax client (future, maybe smbfax, free fax client, no software to install) 8.Email client form when listening to email (future will allow the client to speed up & slow down message etc. Outlook first then look for other clients) Comments? -Matt |

Vince, Right now main.pl in /usr/local/lvm/bin is driving everything, it will have the main loop for the call and call subroutines. Dean's work has started to be integrated, RecordMessage.pl in the /lib directory Kev's work has yet to be integrated. I will try to check in my code and get back - never done it before. -M |

Vince, I have added th following database feilds: email_user_name email_password email_server_address You can pull the info from the database with this code my $dsn = "DBI:mysql:database=voicemail"; my $user = "voicemail"; my $password = "commail"; my $dbh = DBI->connect($dsn, $user, $password); my $sql = qq{SELECT <*XXXX*> FROM VM_Users where extension = $extension}; my $sth = $dbh->prepare($sql); $sth->execute(); my $current_greeting = ($sth->fetchrow_array())[0]; $sth->finish(); $dbh->disconnect (); Tomorrow at 11:30ish looks good. I'll call if something comes up. (Things always come up - just how long will it take is the question) -Matt |

Is ctserver logging its output anywhere? The files in /var/log/voicemail are two days old. I thought I remembered a port showing where the new location was, but I can't find it. -Matt |

Another 300MB is due to the apt cache. In comparison, .91 has used about 5GB with about 300MB under /usr/src. 300MB will be tight, but doable. > I am still looking at this http://soekris.com/net4801.htm for a > platform. Mmm. From my tests I am using 470KB for space of 1 minute of a message Assuming we allocate 600 MB for messsages that gives us 1,277 minutes, or 21 hours. That is a LOT of time for messages, there are lots of voicemails that have 2 hours of storage. The file can be compressed 40% by using standard winzip. I wonder if we should convert them to mp3. I would think there is a way to programatically do that on a debian system. The 1GB card cost about $245 with shipping, we could shave $100 bucks off the cost of each box with better commpression of the voice files. -Matt |
