Searching the /lib/modules/2.2.10/net I find ppp. But searching the /lib/modules/2.4.18-apus/kernel/net I don't find ppp. Do you know if ppp exist somewhere else? Hi, In case someone hasn't seen it yet. If nothing goes wrong I'll be there, so maybe someone also has the possibility to get there. If someone has problems with nonbooting hardware (hint, hint :) ), I can look at these problems myself and try to debug them. Anyway, I'd be happy to meet some APUS people there. :) bye, Roman ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Thu, 19 Sep 2002 19:50:32 +0200 From: Karsten Merker <ka...@ex...> Reply-To: old...@ex... Subject: Invitation to the Oldenburg Linux Developers Meeting 2002 Hallo everybody, it has taken some time, but we now have the final confirmation from Oldenburg University that we can use the ususal rooms again, so I am happy to announce the 7th Oldenburg Linux Developers Meeting. A short overview: What: Oldenburg Linux Developers Meeting 2002 Who: Every developer interested in Linux on non-i386 platforms When: September, 26th to 28th (thursday afternoon to sunday evening) Where: Oldenburg University, science building in Oldenburg-Wechloy, northern Germany (roughly west of Bremen) The meeting is organized by Martin 'Joey' Schulze. It's aim is to work in common on the non-i386 Linux ports and related topics and to further the exchange of ideas and discussion about the several ports. And of course: to have fun :-). If you have not attended the previous meetings, you might like to take a look at the meetings' website at http://oldenburger.linuxtage.de/devel.html. Attendance is free of cost (although we would like to ask you to give some Euros for food and beverage). You don't have to attend from thursday, it's an offer for those of you who would like to and who can afford to come early. If you can't make it that early, just join when you can afford it. We have two rooms, one for hacking, one for sleeping. Please bring a sleeping bag / camping mat, towels, shower stuff and so on with you as well as a plate, cutlery and a coffee mug. There is a university sports building next to the one we stay in, which has showers we can use. Besides this, of course you need to bring the technical stuff with you: computers, monitors, technical documentation, multiple-power-sockets for your systems, network cabling and hubs or switches. The university kindly provides us with network connectivity to the main room, but we need to build the LAN within the room ourselves. A description of how to get to the science building in Oldenburg-Wechloy is available at http://oldenburger.linuxtage.de/lt1999/anfahrt.html (currently German only). Two maps showing the way are available at http://oldenburger.linuxtage.de/Oldenburg1998/ol1.jpg (highway to Oldenburg-Wechloy) and http://oldenburger.linuxtage.de/Oldenburg1998/ol_w.jpg (from the highway to the science building) If you would like to attend the meeting, please send back the following form, so that we can calculate space, power and food. Name_________________: Date of arrival______: ( ) Thursday, Sept. 26th ( ) Friday, Sept. 27th ( ) Saturday, Sept. 28th Date of departure____: ( ) Friday, Sept. 27th ( ) Saturday, Sept. 28th ( ) Sunday, Sept. 29th Number of machines___: Number of monitors___: Do you allow your name to be mentioned on the Meeting's webpages?: yes/no Regards, Karsten -- #include <standard_disclaimer> Nach Paragraph 28 Abs. 3 Bundesdatenschutzgesetz widerspreche ich der Nutzung oder Uebermittlung meiner Daten fuer Werbezwecke oder fuer die Markt- oder Meinungsforschung. |

But when I use pon provider, nothing happens. Although I have made an input where I stated the correct preferences for my ISP. depmod -a gives no errors. No modules is installed upon startup, and when I try to start a module using modprobe I get unresolved dependencies. I really don't know what to do except trying another kernel. Is PPP really supposed to work with the 2.4.18-apus kernel? My old experience with older kernels gave me problems when I was trying to use modules, but when I compiled my own kernel with the necessary utilities compiled into the kernel, these utilies started to work. So at the present, I need a working 2.4.18-apus(or newer) kernel with ppp and some other stuff compiled into the kernel. -- Bj=F6rn Johansson "The power of open source" |

Hi, I am still having problems configuring XFree86-4, I have edited various X config files without success. I have included both my XF86Config-4 and the error log. I have experimented with almost all the different configs I have come across. The point in the log where things go wrong is quite obvious but up till now has not been explained. As usual any help is much appreciated, but for a while I have been at a complete standstill. (I am using a 2.2.10 kernal) I'm sorry to keep asking questions, but once this is working I can get on with using my system with little or no tinkering.
