On my gentoo system GnomePasswordDialog does exist with 2.4.1. I would like to get an 0.8.3 release out sometime soon. Hi again, i've got a question... I'm using glade in a main class which calls a lot of controllers and other classes which instantiates Window widgets controlled by the controllers. As you can see, i'm using Model-View-Controller for programming widgets in OO paradigm. Maybe this is not the correct way using glade because i've found a little problem. I've seen that you can´t call glade files which were instantiated on a class different from the calling class. I've found a way of doing it, but i doesn't like much. The idea is having a main controller class in which glade widgets are instantiated with // WINDOW1 VARS var = Class libglade.getWidget("gladeVar"); After that, when window1 is created calling his respective class, the constructor in window1 copies all the variables created in the main controller in his own class variables (or properties). This also implies that all the events must also be declarated in this main controller. This is the only way wich i've found trying to make my OO programming with glade. I doesnt like much because it seems a little dirty but, when the project gets bigger, a good OO design helps a lot. I'd like to know your opinions. As you can see, im an OO paranoic :-) but this is one of the things why i like java (and java-gnome). -- Alex Moreno |

This question specifically concerns the Java-GTK (not GNOME): Can I use Java-GTK with MS Windows? I assume you would have to compile the libs with cygwin, and probably install a few apps in addition to the JDK, could you please tell me what I would need to do (and if I need a program, please tell me the webiste for it) Thanks, Andy ===== |

Quoting my earlier posting quote ----- This is a known issue. GnomePasswordDialog was introduced late in the 2.4 dev cycle. We will be issuing a 0.8.3 support release of java-gnome shortly and this should resolve the problem. If you can't wait you can just delete PasswordDialog from the gnome java source and org_gnu_gnome_PasswordDialog.c from the gnome C source and recompile. ----- quote -Jeff > That's what I thought, so I shouldn't be getting the > unsatisfiedlinkerror > after all? > > >> I have Gnome-2.4.1. Hi, i´m yet trying to modify my glade trees :-(. I´ve made a lightly modified version of the TreeExample.java using glade, wich i´ve attached with the glade file. If someone could explain me how to add new elements to the glade original design... I´d apreciate much better a working version of my java file :-) for the begining. No explaining is needed if it´s too hard, no problem, i´ll study the example. I suppose that the problem must be in capturing the model... but as i explained few days ago, i tried to do it as i do in swing without success. Please help me!!! I promise to write a good glade tutorial with trees included :-). Thanks very much. -- Alex Moreno |

It looks like cvs is still down. I have all of the File FileChooser code completed as well as an example of the FileChooser and EntryCopmpletion widgets. I will check them in as soon as cvs is functional. I am going to start work updating the Menu classes and fixing a couple of problems with ConfClient. -Jeff |

Mark, have you implemented any dnd between treeviews in your bug tracking app? I haven't tried it, but I guess it should have some treview widgets in it. Do they support dnd? I'm using the same code of te draganddrop example, and TBH I had to say that if I use an entry to receive drop events, like the example, (or a text buffer) I have no problem. But if I use a treeview, no 'plus' sign on the mouse cursor is visible. I've tried to grab the underliyng viewport, scrolled window, or the whole app window and tried to set them as drop events receiver, but to no avail. What I want to do is simply drag a file on the treeview, and have its path entered in the treeview. Any hints? -- Luca De Rugeriis <pie...@li...> |

Hey all, Does anyone know if it's possible to define the content of a tree (A node) within a Glade file. And, if so, could you post a fragment of the glade file containing an example. I've looked through just about every glade file on my system and haven't found any instance of this. Also the documentation does not mention this. This would be very helpful. Thanks in advance. Ah the maillist seems to be up again, I send some mails during the weeken= d but always got a return mail saying there's something wrong but it seems they did arrive eventually. Thanks for the answer on the linkerror and the libgcj.jar error. Somewhile ago somebody asked for an ebuild script of 0.8.2 for the Gentoo portage. Since I've been planning for a while now to figure those scripts out, I'll make one somewhere this week for 0.8.2. In fact, if it doesn't turn out to be too difficult (I don't think so), I'd like to volunteer to maintain the ebuild scripts for java-gnome. You are correct that this has been a reoccurring problem. Different distros place this file in different locations and often have different names. We need to add the ability to specify the location of this file as a configure option. Perhaps we can get this in our 0.8.3 release as well as our 2.5.4 development release due in one week. -Jeff > When ./configure'en the latest java-gnome version I get that > it doesn't > find the libgcj.jar file.
