When ./configure'en the latest java-gnome version I get that it doesn't find the libgcj.jar file. After some searching I found that a lot of people have this problem. The libgcj.jar on my system (Gentoo) is located in /usr/share/gcc-data/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2/java and is actually called libgcj-3.2.3.jar I don't know how to adjust ./configure so that it goes looking there, how do I do this? |

This is a known issue. GnomePasswordDialog was introduced late in the 2.4 dev cycle. We will be issuing a 0.8.3 support release of java-gnome shortly and this should resolve the problem. If you can't wait you can just delete PasswordDialog from the gnome java source and org_gnu_gnome_PasswordDialog.c from the gnome C source and recompile. -Jeff > I'm getting this all of a sudden. I'm getting this all of a sudden. Haven't touched my code, the ecxeption occurs on Program.initGnomeUI(appName, appVersion, args); I'm using 0.8.2. Anybody got an idea what might be wrong? Hello, I´d like to integrate our java application better in the GNOME environment. For a start I´d like to use the setting what application to use for documents off a given mime type. Is this possible with the java binding or is there another way to do it ? Thanks, Carsten -- Carsten Zerbst <car...@at...> |

The ebuild script that I wrote for Gentoo has now made it into the portage tree. This means that Gentoo now has java-gnome 0.8.1 package as part of its distribution. It might be nice if somebody could update this to 0.8.2. -Jeff |

Addition of this functionality to java-gnome would round round off the Pixbuf creation and handling and allow f.e. bundling images in the same JAR as the class files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=351522&aid=881566&group_id=1522 |

Sorry it took me so long to apply this patch. I just applied it to the cvs head (sorry, it missed the last development release). It still needs to be applied to the 0.8 branch. I expect we will be rolling a 0.8.3 release shortly and this should be part of that release. -Jeff > Hi, > > I noticed that the Java bindings don't support OptionMenuEvent > in libglade. Ok, I will try this again. I sent mail responding to this in the past but never heard back, guess may be my mail server went dead on me. I am a web developer. I have about 5 years of experience in it but have recently started my java training (as my company is transitioning to java) and having used gnome on my machine at home and personally interested in it, i joined this list. so far, nothing much success with my java-gnome development. but i am learning fast. but i would like to volunteer to update the site. but just give me initial push/direction/pointers and i will pick it up. thanks, ::akbar On Fri, 2004-01-16 at 08:57, Jeffrey Morgan wrote: > Our site is currently quite out of date. We're currently in the middle of changing webmaster: Rafael George <rg...@ya...> has volunteered to take it up. I think it's a nice idea. Could you discuss these issues with the new site mantainer? -- Luca De Rugeriis <pie...@li...> |

No, this is not the problem, i´ve tested it. Headers is refered to the window headers, the part wich shows you the column names, not the data columns. -- On Fri, 2004-01-16 at 15:18, Mark Howard wrote: Hi, I've not tested it, but the glade file includes: <property name="headers_visible">False</property>I think this means that columns headers are not shown, and hence youcan not see any difference when you add a column. Hi, I wrote time ago about Italian translation of Java-GNOME site, now it's ready, all xml files have been translated in Italian. I don't know how these pages will be converted in "*.xx.html" file from xml but I hope that "it.html" pages will be created, because I changed the "en.html" links to "it.html". Personally I think, if you want a success multilanguage, easy to manage/translate website, you could consider a cooperative way to manage the site.. now the news.xml still manageble, but what will happen, example, when other languages will be supported and other news will be added? I think in these situation the wiki pages are nice way to manage the contents, if you are curious about how it works try http://ruby-gnome2.sourceforge.jp (very related project to yours) or http://www.wikipedia.org/. If you want to see the wiki-sources of that pages just click on "edit", but if you want really edit it you have to know the password (depends of which wiki you're running). I would thank also Riccarco and Roberto who helped me in the translation ;) Ciao, Luigi |
