Hm, sorry to hear - worked for me, although I haven't done much more than upload additional albums on a few occasions. I'm assuming you had it connected to iTunes before - what does the gtkpod log say? Florian On 26.05.2012 18:12, Joe Dougherty wrote: > Hmm. Hmm. I tried this, downloading libhashab64.so from http://franck78.ath.cx, and it seems to have corrupted the databases on my 6th-Generation Nano so that the iPod thinks it is devoid of music and playlists. Well that's a shame... could have saved me 4-5 months of work ;-( Still, atomic parsley is dedicated to apple orientated tags which are not the same as standard ISO as I understand. Since I have introduced a c++ library, we could consider taglib for uniform support for mp3, vorbis and flac? I don't remember why your taglib idea was rejected, whether it was me. Hi all, Just merged into master an alternative solution to using libmp4v2 for mp4 tag reading/writing. Instead, I have modified/hacked the atomicparsley binary and converted it to a library. I was going to download it separately but due to the changes I have made, it was better to leave it in the gtkpod repository. The downside is it is written in C++ so have to check for g++ in configure but on the other hand it is fully GPL so no need for any exceptions in the licensing. mfv - I hope this should satisfy the folks on debian now ;) Cheers PGR -- Paul Richardson * p.g...@ph... * mob: +44 (0)9780 869490 * home: +44 (0)1633 892850 "I know exactly who reads the papers ... * The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country. * The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country. * The Times is read by people who do actually run the country. * The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country. * The Financial Times is read by the people who own the country. * The Morning Star is read by the people who think the country ought to be run by another country. * The Daily Telegraph is read by the people who think it is." Hello everyone, I've successfully synced my iPod Nano 6G with gtkpod on Ubuntu 11.10. Here's a brief summary of what I've done to get this running: - replace Ubuntu's libgpod 0.8.0 with 0.8.2. I may put packages into my PPA at a later point for easier installation, although precise already has the correct recent version available. - place the infamous libhashab.so/libhashab64.so into /usr/lib/libgpod/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 543K 2012-01-21 19:34 libhashab.so md5sum (32 bit): bb7180cb0c9cee2a605a5a276672913e (Google is your friend.) - after Ubuntu automounts the iPod, force it to read-write mode using sudo mount -o remount,rw,force <mountpoint> - take ownership of all files & directories sudo chown -R <your_user_name>: <mountpoint> - run gtkpod - sync, be happy :-) Florian -- SENT FROM MY DEC VT50 TERMINAL |

Hi, Before update my iPhone in IOS5 i used sync with rhythmbox. Now doesn't work because a lot of changes on IOS5 for sync music :( This week i discovered libgpod source code. I wish to understand how work synchronizing between iphone(IOS5) and libgpod. So i had open database (iTunes_Control/iTunes/MediaLibrary.sqlitedb) and i have seen a multiple hash code entries. He seems that it is hard for solve it. Currently, have you any runway for resolve new hash? A model of itunes DB, is it different between IOS 4 and 5? Have you got a name of tools and tips for decode/simulate hash? Thank you for reading, nfk |

Greetings, It would appear that gtkpod is falling foul of GPL licence requirements. In particular: a) The use of libmp4v2 library (MPL licence) for the m4a and mp4 filetype plugins b) The use of gstreamer in the sjcd and media player plugins I am not certain how to sort either of these issues at the moment but I have been receiving advice at [1]. Certainly, a step forward may well be to re-licence the plugins and I think the core libgtkpod library to be LGPL. Jorg, At the very least it will need your ascent to be able to relicence the libgtkpod and plugins code since most of it is your code from gtkpod pre-1.0. Anyway, if anyone would like to lend a hand with this issue then help would be much appreciated.
