it's not a problem of gnuplot, it's a problem you have with your x-server. if you would start 'xclock' or 'xterm' inside a terminal window, you would see the same message. it may be caused by a change of your network address after starting the x-server, e.g. you start without connection to the internet and afterwards connect via dsl. then your network address changes but the x-server retains the old address and refuses connection because the client (gnuplot_x11, xclock, xterm, ...) now runs on a 'different' computer. or the user who started the x-server is not the user who started gnuplot.
