[Gnuplot-info] Problems with my gnuplot...

Hi, my name is Gonzalo Vilella. I'm writing you because I've got some
problems with my gnuplot for Kubuntu. I had the 4.0 version and I
tried to ugrade it to the 4.2 version. It told me to install the x-11
package. Once I did that, it has started failing. Now, every once I
try to execute the gnuplot I have a problem: it says:

G N U P L O T
        Version 4.2 patchlevel 0
        last modified March 2007
        System: Linux 2.6.22-14-generic

Terminal type set to 'x11'
gnuplot> Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified


gnuplot: unable to open display ':0'
gnuplot: X11 aborted.


Since I'm not very keen on Linux or computer sciences, I don't know
how to solve this. If you could help me...

it's not a problem of gnuplot, it's a problem you have with your x-server.
if you would start 'xclock' or 'xterm' inside a terminal window, you would
see
the same message.

it may be caused by a change of your network address after starting the
x-server, e.g. you start without connection to the internet and afterwards
connect via dsl. then your network address changes but the x-server
retains the old address and refuses connection because the client
(gnuplot_x11,
xclock, xterm, ...) now runs on a 'different' computer.

or

the user who started the x-server is not the user who started gnuplot.
