I recently detected gnuplot for my work. I like it very much in combination with its mp driver to create beautiful PDF presentations (PDFLaTeX). It seems that the mp driver in the current CVS version of gnuplot (version 4.1 patchlevel 0) does not support fillstyles? Is this correct? At the moment, I miss it most for drawing histograms?! (As a work-around I use impulses style.) Is the lack of fillstyles in the mp driver caused by some fundamental limitations of matapost, or/and is an enhanced mp driver likely to be available soon? Thanks for the great gnuplot application! Adrian. |

Dear Gnuplot Developer Team, I don't want to make this long. I am using your software since 8 years irregularly when I need it. Just today I wrote a small german Introduction (http://www.deshalbfrei.org/ software:gnuplot) and I had a small impression of what I would really like to see. You already have the splot function, using 2 variables. Could you implement an additional 'qplot' with 3 variables, which paints the 4. dimension as a grayshade? I know there are a lot of perspective problems, as it would be needed to rotate it and splice it into several layers to have the overall impression of the function, but I think it would be a great idea to visualise the fourth orthogonal dimension. (you could splice it up into n terminal windows or something) Just an idea. With best regards, Carsten Busse |

Hello, I have the following input file: # Sessions | Time ----------------------- 15 | 07:00 29 | 08:00 68 | 09:00 65 | 10:00 70 | 11:00 110 | 12:00 105 | 13:00 92 | 14:00 67 | 15:00 89 | 16:00 55 | 17:00 30 | 18:00 22 | 19:00 10 | 20:00 16 | 21:00 5 | 22:00 Is this possible to plot this with the first line being "# Sessions | Time", the "------------------" line, and the "|" between the number and the time? If this is not possible I can just run the input file through something to get rid of everything except the numbers. If I had input like: 15 07:00 29 08:00 65 09:00 How would I plot this? Hi, I have a new Suse 9.2 installation. The Gnuplot version that comes with it is 4.0.-3.1. When I try to do some surface plots, I get out of memory for thin plate splines in dgrid3d It does not happen with the 3.7.1 version. Could you help? Chris |
